POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Manufacturing Systems Project Leader is responsible for establishing and implementing the manufacturing systems required for the successful startup and ongoing operation of a new BAC manufacturing facility. This role leads the deployment and integration of MES, Tulus, press brake programming, and related production systems beginning in EPIC-2 and continuing through launch and stabilization. The position partners with Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Human Resources, and external suppliers to implement manufacturing systems that support workforce readiness, operational excellence, and sustainable plant performance aligned with BAC standards.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead manufacturing systems readiness for the greenfield plant from requirements definition and configuration through testing, deployment, production launch, and stabilization.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Leadership, Human Resources, and Training teams to support user adoption, workforce training, certification, and operational readiness activities required for successful startup and long-term system utilization.
  • Coordinate the implementation and integration of MES, Tulus, press brake programming, and related manufacturing applications and interfaces, beginning in EPIC-2.
  • Translate manufacturing process and user requirements into system workflows, configurations, master data, controls, reports, and support procedures.
  • Partner with Information Technology and Manufacturing Systems teams to establish system connectivity, user access, device requirements, data flows, cybersecurity controls, and production support processes.
  • Plan and lead system testing, user acceptance, defect resolution, cutover, launch support, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Ensure manufacturing system solutions support production execution, traceability, quality controls, scheduling, data collection, and operational visibility.
  • Coordinate dependencies across equipment, network, ERP, MES, programming, data, and shop-floor processes to prevent gaps in operational readiness.
  • Develop system standards, governance, change controls, escalation paths, and sustainment processes aligned with BAC requirements.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, training materials, certification requirements, system documentation, and support guides.
  • Train and certify site manufacturing leaders, system users, and designated support resources to execute transactions, monitor performance, resolve routine issues, and sustain standards.
  • Implement applicable BAC X standards and daily management practices, including tier boards, hour-by-hour monitoring, visual controls, and performance escalation supported by accurate system data.
  • Track workstream milestones, risks, decisions, dependencies, and deliverables; communicate status and escalate barriers that may affect plant startup.
  • Transition system ownership to the site and support teams with validated solutions, complete documentation, trained users, and clearly defined ongoing support responsibilities.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

This is a hands-on project leadership role supporting the configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization of manufacturing systems for a greenfield facility. The incumbent leads the manufacturing systems workstream and coordinates cross-functional resources across Operations, Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers.

This role requires strong understanding of shop-floor processes, disciplined project execution, and the ability to connect system design with practical manufacturing needs. Success is measured by operational readiness, user adoption, system reliability, production support capability, data integrity, and the successful transition of sustainable manufacturing processes and systems to site leadership.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Operations, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing systems, manufacturing engineering, production technology, systems implementation, or manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing manufacturing systems in an industrial environment; greenfield plant or major expansion experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with MES and shop-floor production systems; familiarity with Tulus, press brake programming, ERP integration, or comparable manufacturing applications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, master data, traceability, scheduling, quality controls, data collection, and manufacturing reporting.
  • Experience leading requirements, configuration, testing, user acceptance, cutover, launch support, and system stabilization.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing system integration, equipment connectivity, user access, data governance, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Ability to develop clear SOPs, work instructions, training materials, system documentation, and certification standards.
  • Proven project leadership skills, including planning, dependency management, supplier coordination, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to train and influence manufacturing leaders, system users, and support resources while reinforcing adherence to standard processes.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
