The Role

Voltus is hiring a driven Market Operations Analyst with a relentless drive to make us more efficient and execute on our promises to both our internal and external customers. You take pride in figuring out new ways to do something better, you get into the weeds, and you can’t help but measure and track everything you do so that you know how much better you do it the second and third time around. By the fourth time, you’ve automated it. You have relentless attention to detail, are a master project manager, and are intellectually curious about energy markets and demand-side resources. You are bright, gritty, and good, and you want to work with others like you.

Responsibilities

The best version of Voltus requires a perfect understanding of our customers and a perfect understanding of energy markets. The Market Operations team sits squarely at the intersection of these spheres, which gives us a unique ability to help shape Voltus’ success. As a team, we’re responsible for operationalizing many of the essential elements of DER participation in energy markets. This means not only executing but also working internally and across the org to improve areas such as utility data collection, enrollment, availability management, scheduling, and performance calculations. As a Market Operations Analyst, you will be expected to:

  • Identify, develop, and implement tools and processes to support flawless execution of our day-to-day responsibilities

  • Protect our revenue by identifying and correcting process errors

  • Daily management of availability and market offers across our capacity, operating reserves, and economic products

  • Manage the process to request and submit interval usage data to support the full customer lifecycle, including enrollment, performance calculations, and settlement

  • Ensure performance calculations are successful and timely for all products

Qualifications

  • Able to begin work by 8 AM Mountain Time.

  • 1-3 years experience in an operational setting.

  • Excellent quantitative skills, including business-applied Python.

  • Self-starter who takes ownership beyond your immediate scope; when you see a problem, you drive it to resolution rather than assuming someone else will.

  • Ability to understand multifaceted situations and distill them into a clear, actionable strategy.

  • Strong critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. You want to understand the why of an issue, and you approach problems from first principles.

  • Gritty. You’ve done hard things, and you’re not afraid to put in the work when it’s required.

  • Empathetic and collaborative teammate. You’re kind in your delivery of feedback and interactions with others. You’re consistently focused on winning as a team.

Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).

Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.

At Voltus, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer because we recognize that a diverse organization begins with a diverse candidate pool. This means we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind and are committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of your gender identity, race, nationality, religion, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability status, or marital status.
