The Marketing Communications Coordinator will support the Texas Department of Transportation on the Marketing Communications project. This role is responsible for managing brand identity, developing communication strategies, and coordinating the production and distribution of external communications across multiple channels. The coordinator will work closely with agency leadership and staff to identify and publish newsworthy content while ensuring consistency of messaging across all mediums. The position also requires an understanding of EIR Accessibility requirements and their integration throughout the project lifecycle. This is a client-facing, strategically focused role requiring strong analytical, writing, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage brand identity by building cooperative relationships with internal management, staff, and external vendors to reinforce consistent branding and communications across all mediums.
  • Coordinate with agency leadership and staff to gather information about newsworthy events and activities for publication on the website, social media, and other channels.
  • Review all external communications, including newsletters and promotional materials, for consistent messaging and branding, and coordinate production and distribution as needed.
  • Segment contact lists based on buyer personas, targeted verticals, and behavioral data such as email engagement history and website interactions.
  • Develop and maintain a visible working relationship with agency management and staff to serve as a primary resource for public-facing communications.
  • Assist in developing, organizing, creating, and publicizing press packets, articles, and promotional materials; coordinate with vendors for event planning, web content, podcasts, and video production.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate communications strategies and plans that support the organization's strategic goals, including setting measurable objectives and monitoring effectiveness.
  • Monitor industry trends, analyze market research, and apply findings to communications planning and messaging.
  • Provide communications support across the full project lifecycle, including strategic planning, project implementation, and post-implementation review.
  • Ensure EIR Accessibility requirements and technical specifications are integrated at appropriate stages of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, development, and testing.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience as a Marketing Communications Coordinator.
  • 3 years of experience with external documents such as newsletters, or demonstrated equivalent writing and publishing design skills; experience in public relations, marketing, targeted marketing, social media, promotional marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation tools, and web analytics.
  • 3 years of demonstrated understanding of email marketing concepts and metrics, including Sender Score, deliverability, and sender reputation.
  • 2 years of experience in email marketing and marketing automation technology.
  • 2 years of demonstrated analytical ability, including deriving meaning from data through A/B testing and email and landing page optimization.
  • 2 years of demonstrated knowledge of Associated Press Style.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and report-writing tools.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Candidates selected for interview may be required to undergo criminal background checks and a drug screen in accordance with Federal and State law.
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
