About the Team

An instrumental part of GOAT Group, the Marketing team oversees a wide range of activities, which aim to build awareness, consideration and loyalty for our brands. As a member of this team, you will work to execute thoughtful, data-driven marketing campaigns that drive meaningful growth for the company.

Role Overview

GOAT Group is seeking a Marketing Engineer I to build the AI systems that run our marketing. This is an AI-first role: we are hiring primarily for demonstrated ability to build with LLMs and agent tooling. Marketing knowledge and experience are preferred, but not required.

Reporting to the AVP of Growth, you will work inside the Marketing team to replace manual, repetitive workflows with agents, pipelines, and internal tools. Your first focus is CRM and lifecycle automation, expanding into performance marketing and organic marketing over time. We expect strong candidates to arrive with more AI experience than marketing or engineering experience. If you have been shipping agents and can show us what they do, we will help you close the rest.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and deploy AI agents and automated workflows that marketing teams use daily, taking them from prototype to production rather than stopping at a demo.
  • Automate campaign development in Braze, including template-driven generation, reusable segmentation logic, product-level personalization, and pre-send QA.
  • Write evaluation suites that measure agent output for brand voice, factual grounding, and tone, and that catch regressions before they reach customers.
  • Maintain a version-controlled library of prompts, skills, and agent definitions as shared team infrastructure.
  • Integrate marketing and product systems through APIs and MCP servers so agents can act on real GOAT data.
  • Train marketing partners on what you build, and track adoption and outcomes for everything you ship.

How Success Is Measured

Agents shipped into recurring use, hours of manual work returned to the marketing team, and measurable movement in the KPIs your systems touch.

We are looking for:

Required Qualifications

  • A demonstrated portfolio of AI builds: agents, LLM workflows, or internal tools you shipped that real people used. Personal projects, internships, and open-source work count. Be prepared to walk us through one.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM APIs such as Anthropic or OpenAI, including prompt design, structured outputs, and tool use.
  • Practical experience with agent orchestration platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or Gumloop, and with AI development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
  • Evaluation literacy: you can explain how you would know whether an AI system is working, and you have built or used evals to find out.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, Python preferred. You can read, debug, and modify code you did not write, and explain why your own code works.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, and JSON, plus comfort with Git and version control.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in any field. We are evaluating what you can build, not where you have worked.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to a CRM or marketing automation platform. Braze (Liquid, Canvas, REST API) is most directly relevant.
  • Experience building simple internal interfaces with React, Streamlit, Retool, or similar.
  • SQL or experience querying a data warehouse.
  • Familiarity with RAG, context engineering, or building on structured product catalogs.
  • Interest in or knowledge of sneakers, streetwear, collectibles, and resale marketplaces

Growth and Development

You will receive direct mentorship from our AVP of Growth, and work alongside partners in Engineering and Marketing. As the Marketing Engineering function matures here, the role is expected to grow in scope and ownership.
