We are hiring someone to own and grow our mentor network — from recruitment to training to ongoing engagement and operations.

This is a high-ownership, entrepreneurial role for someone who wants to build systems, manage people, and grow into a senior leadership position over time.

The Role

You will own the full lifecycle of mentor acquisition & retention: recruiting top undergraduates, managing onboarding & training, providing ongoing support, and working with our team to develop scalable operational systems.

This role requires someone who combines initiative with humility. You’re comfortable leading projects when needed and stepping in wherever the team needs support to drive long-term outcomes.

  • Source high quality candidates for the mentor role
  • Screen applications, conduct interviews, and administer entry assessments
  • Forecast mentor supply needs and proactively expand the network accordingly
  • Identify early-exit risk signals and mitigate churn

Training & Onboarding

  • Oversee and continuously improve the onboarding experience
  • Manage orientation processes and onboarding logistics
  • Produce mentor progress reports and performance insights

Mentor Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for mentor support
  • Manage day to day mentor operations
  • Respond to time-sensitive mentor needs when required
  • Drive mentor engagement, satisfaction, and retention

Community Building

  • Build and maintain a strong internal mentor community
  • Create initiatives that foster connection, retention, and growth
  • Elevate high-performing mentors and create growth pathways

KPI Tracking & Operations

  • Track, analyze, and report key metrics in weekly leadership meetings
  • Monitor recruitment funnel metrics, retention, satisfaction, and supply-demand balance
  • identify opportunities for automation and other adjustments to foster scalable mentor network growth

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in operations, recruiting, program management, or community building
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong communicator and natural “people person”
  • Data-driven and comfortable analyzing trends
  • Thrive in startup environments where you build while running
  • Able to balance high empathy with operational rigor

Bonus Points:

  • Background in education, edtech, campus leadership, or student programming
  • Experience managing contractors or distributed teams
  • Experience building systems from scratch
  • Bilingual

Compensation & Benefits

  • $60,000–$80,000 depending on experience
  • Relocation stipend (if Austin-based)
  • Monthly health & wellness stipend
  • Opportunity to earn equity over time
  • Direct involvement in company strategy and exposure to leadership team
  • Clear pathway to senior leadership as the company scales
