This is a hands-on role for a mortgage professional with deep practical knowledge of collateral documentation, lien releases, title and recording requirements, and related processes. The ideal candidate can independently manage complex matters, work directly with attorneys, title companies, county recording offices, custodians, investors, and other third parties, and drive issues through resolution. This individual will serve as an internal subject matter expert while establishing scalable processes and controls and taking end-to-end ownership of the function.
Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage foreclosure and REO documentation
Research and resolve title, lien, recording, and collateral issues, including title claims and document exceptions
Manage Assignments of Mortgage, allonges, bailee letters, and original collateral requirements throughout the loan lifecycle
Support loan sales and securitizations through collateral QC, document preparation, clearing conditions, and delivery of required collateral
Track and obtain recorded documents, final title policies, and other trailing documentation
Maintain accurate collateral records and appropriate document custody and chain-of-custody controls
Transition document preparation, recording, research/abstracting, and other appropriate collateral functions currently handled by third-party vendors in-house
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of mortgage industry experience with a strong background in lien release, title, recording, collateral, default servicing, or related functions
Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing, and recording mortgage-related documents across multiple jurisdictions
Experience supporting foreclosure, REO, title curative, and/or lien release matters
Strong understanding of mortgage collateral, chain of title, lien perfection, and recording requirements
Proven ability to research complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and work independently through resolution
Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Benefits:
- Company sponsored health insurance
- Company sponosred 401(k)
- Paid vacation time
