Position Summary

The National Account Director (NAD), Oncology GPO Contracting, owns the group purchasing and enterprise contracting that secures NeoGenomics’ access to high-value national accounts. This role negotiates, structures, and manages master agreements with oncology GPOs and health-system / IDN GPOs establishing the pricing, preferred or exclusive status, and terms that open thousands of practices and facilities to the NeoGenomics oncology diagnostics portfolio. Operating in a coordinated pair with the network-focused National Account Directors, this role secures contracted access; the network NADs convert that access into adoption, share, and strategic partnership.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own NeoGenomics’ oncology GPO contracting strategy and portfolio across community oncology GPOs (Unity / McKesson, ION Solutions / Cencora, VitalSource / Cardinal Health, etc.)
  • Lead the negotiation, structuring, and execution of master agreements — pricing, rebates, administrative fees, preferred or exclusive status, performance tiers, and renewals — that are both competitive and profitable
  • Develop the business case and economic model for each agreement; safeguard pricing realization, margin discipline, and contract compliance
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle: RFP/RFI response, negotiation and redlines (in partnership with Legal), execution, membership eligibility and rosters, performance monitoring, and timely renewals
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for GPO corporate stakeholders — contracting, category and clinical, membership, and analytics teams
  • Navigate aggregation groups and regional purchasing coalitions operating beneath the national GPOs (e.g., Vizient aggregation groups such as Partners Cooperative and Captis) that affect eligibility and access
  • Operate as a coordinated pair with the network-focused NADs on shared-parent ecosystems (e.g., McKesson / Unity, Cencora / ION Solutions, Cardinal Health / VitalSource) — one relationship map and one joint account plan per parent — handing off qualified, contracted access for pull-through
  • Manage federal and government contract vehicles as applicable (e.g., VA/DoD, Federal Supply Schedule) to secure access across government channels
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Pricing, Market Access, and Operations to structure, approve, and operationalize agreements
  • Monitor the GPO and contracting landscape — competitor agreements, administrative-fee benchmarks, membership shifts, and policy changes — and advise leadership
  • Report on contract-portfolio health: GPO penetration, share of network under contract, preferred/exclusive status, pricing realization, and the renewal pipeline

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or related) preferred15+ years of progressive leadership experience spanning finance operations, finance programs, consulting, shared services, or enterprise change leadership
  • 8+ years of experience in diagnostics, biopharma, medical devices, specialty distribution, or healthcare commercial roles, with a concentration in GPO / enterprise contracting and/or Market Access
  • Demonstrated success negotiating and managing GPO and/or enterprise contracts in oncology, diagnostics, biopharma, med-tech, or specialty distribution
  • Existing relationships with oncology GPOs (Unity, ION Solutions, VitalSource) and/or at the community oncology network level (McKesson/USON, OneOncology, etc.) strongly beneficial
  • Deep command of GPO economics — administrative fees, rebates, tiered and committed-spend pricing, aggregation groups, and membership dynamics
  • Strong contracting, negotiation, and financial-modeling skills; able to influence without authority and lead cross-functional execution with Legal, Finance, and Pricing; strong executive presence at C-Suite level
  • Working knowledge of oncology diagnostics (molecular, NGS, biomarker testing) and the evolving oncology care-delivery and reimbursement landscape
