East Houston Medical Center’s Baytown facility is seeking an experienced Nurse Supervisor to provide clinical leadership, operational coordination, and staff support across assigned nursing areas. This role is designed for a poised, accountable nursing leader who can balance patient care priorities, team development, regulatory readiness, and real-time problem solving.

About the Role

The Nurse Supervisor serves as a visible leadership resource for nurses, LVNs, unit staff, providers, patients, and families. This position supports safe staffing, patient flow, quality expectations, policy compliance, and escalation management while helping create a professional environment where clinical teams can perform at a high level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily nursing operations and provide leadership support to assigned units and shifts.
  • Monitor staffing levels, patient acuity, assignments, and clinical needs to promote safe care delivery.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for clinical concerns, patient experience issues, staffing challenges, and operational barriers.
  • Support compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, documentation requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Mentor staff, reinforce professional communication, and assist with coaching or performance feedback as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, department managers, administration, case management, and ancillary services.
  • Participate in quality improvement, incident review, infection prevention, patient safety, and survey-readiness activities.
  • Help maintain a calm, respectful, and accountable care environment for patients, families, and staff.
Scheduling and Availability

Full-time leadership role with schedule expectations based on facility operations. Availability for evenings, weekends, or urgent operational needs may be required.

RequirementsQualifications
  • Active RN license in the State of Texas or compact RN license in good standing.
  • MSN strongly preferred or required based on final facility leadership structure.
  • MBA, MHA, or healthcare administration background preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience required.
  • Prior charge nurse, house supervisor, manager, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
  • Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or required by assigned clinical area.
  • Strong leadership presence, communication skills, judgment, and ability to manage sensitive situations professionally.
