Build & Maintain Internal Workflow Systems

Do you love building systems that actually work without constant babysitting?

Fuelerate is looking for an OpenClaw Automation Engineer to help us build, maintain, and improve internal workflow systems for a fast-moving eCommerce agency.

This is not a “come up with automation ideas” role.

The systems are already being defined.

We need someone who can take clear specs, build fast, debug independently, and make sure the workflows run reliably.

We care about speed, clarity, logic, and stability.

Not overengineering.

Not messy no-code patches.

Not AI guessing its way through business-critical workflows.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help us push internal automation systems forward across tools like:

  • OpenClaw
  • ClickUp
  • Slack
  • APIs
  • Schedulers
  • Light LinkedIn-related workflows
  • Internal tracking systems

You will:

  • Build new automation workflows from defined specs
  • Maintain and improve existing systems
  • Debug scheduler issues, API failures, sync errors, missing data, and edge cases
  • Create clean, deterministic logic that works reliably
  • Improve workflow stability without overcomplicating the system
  • Work directly with the Founder in a fast feedback loop
  • Move quickly from problem → solution → working implementation

Your job is not to talk about automation.

Your job is to make automation work.

You’re a Great Fit If You Have
  • Strong experience with OpenClaw or similar automation / agent workflow systems
  • Experience building custom scripts, schedulers, and API-based workflows
  • Strong backend logic and debugging ability
  • Comfort working across tools like Slack, ClickUp, and workflow platforms
  • Ability to understand a system quickly and implement cleanly
  • Clear, concise communication
  • A strong ownership mindset
  • Speed without sloppiness
  • Practical judgment around when to use AI and when to use deterministic logic
You Won’t Enjoy This Role If You
  • Need constant instructions
  • Communicate slowly
  • Overcomplicate simple systems
  • Only know Zapier / Make and cannot work with real logic
  • Rely too heavily on AI instead of structured thinking
  • Build fragile workflows that break when edge cases appear
  • Avoid debugging hard problems
  • Prefer theory over execution
Why Fuelerate

We’re not a slow agency.

We move fast, build practical systems, and care about execution.

You’ll work directly with the Founder, get fast feedback, and help improve the internal engine of a growing Shopify growth agency.

If the first projects go well, this can become an ongoing long-term collaboration.

Details
  • Start with onboarding + a small paid trial
  • Move into ongoing collaboration if it’s a strong fit
  • Remote work
  • Fast feedback loop
  • Long-term work available for the right person
Ready to Apply?

Please keep your answer short and practical.

Share one example of a system you built for a business, agency, or internal team.

Include:

  • What the system does
  • The hardest problem you solved
  • One specific issue you had to debug and how you fixed it

We’re looking for someone who can build reliable systems fast.

Show us how you think, how you debug, and what you’ve shipped.
