Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the RoleWe are seeking versatile operators to build and scale the internal tools and data infrastructure that power Base’s core operations. You’ll write code, automate manual workflows, and create data pipelines that improve speed, accuracy, and cost across our growing business.
As part of our Operations team, you will lead various initiatives that surround internal software tooling for our member pipeline, financial operations, and deployments. You’ll be the glue that builds, automates, and maintains the systems and processes that enable us to deliver batteries on the grid faster and more cost effective than anyone. On any given day you may be building software tools to process customers, automating our repetitive processes that are used for each hardware installation, or analyzing our customer pipeline to find opportunities to reduce time spent per customer and improve the customer experience.
What You’ll Do
Build and optimize internal tools that enable end-to-end supply chain operations
Design, document, and implement operations using these new tools - leading efforts across teams to implement.
Write custom software applications utilizing Odoo, ReTool, and others
Build dashboards and data visualization for monitoring key operational metrics
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, accounting, and field teams to identify bottlenecks and build scalable solutions
What You’ll Bring
Proficiency in Python, SQL or similar languages
Experience with data modeling and workflow automation
Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo a plus) and low-code platforms such as Retool, CRMs, or internal APIs
A track record of solving business problems through automation, scripting, and data - turning manual processes into scalable systems
Builder’s mindset - you thrive in operational complexity and enjoy bridging the gap between engineering and day-to-day operations
Highly organized and execution-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and urgency to see projects through from concept to completion
Experience working in a tech-enabled operations environment (e.g., energy, logistics, or manufacturing), where software meets the physical world preferred
First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.
Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
