ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a Managing Director, Advocacy Relations to join our exciting and dynamic team! In this role, you will be responsible for driving forward the enhancement and development of the advocacy relations practice, while working creatively to produce and execute new service offerings. You’ll work to improve the integration across network businesses, while supporting the Practice Leader and managing the day-to-day operations of the team.

What You’ll Do:

Client Relationship

  • You will provide senior level strategic support for the advocacy practice team by consulting on key accounts and demonstrating our best-in-class counsel, and its advantage to W2O’s clients
  • Partner across the W2O client base in order to offer strategic advocacy counseling and support
  • Lead and develop relationships with key W2O practices in order to create integrated advocacy programming for clients
  • Assist clients to assess, create, shape and transform their own advocacy functions
  • Shape unique and innovative efforts to help clients bring the patient perspective into their research and development programs
  • Actively cultivate new opportunities for advocacy programming (both with existing clients and through targeted new business)
  • Create and develop a professional association and be able to hone and expand individual professional relationships between physician facing advocacy groups

Strategy

  • Act to drive advocacy components for new business programs, while actively identifying opportunities for potential advocacy-driven programs with key clients
  • Support growth and evolution of the W2O best-in-industry advocacy capability and team through identifying and leading areas for new growth and service offerings such as professional relations, integration across other practices up leveled analytics, etc
  • Develop, build and lead a professional relations capacity within the advocacy practice that incorporates work with professional and medical societies into the services that W2O can offer clients
  • Partner closely with Integrated Intelligence and Strategy teams to support the development of W2O analytic approach
  • Up-level advocacy mapping projects to include more focused evaluation aligned with the company’s business goals and support the development of formal engagement recommendations

Operations and Day to Day

  • Oversee junior staff to support program execution as needed, providing feedback, coaching and overall support
  • Manage, mentor and support members of the advocacy practice to create an exciting and engaging work environment for the team
  • Develop strategy and serve as a thought leader building awareness of W2O’s advocacy practice (blogs, publications, speaking engagements)

Essential Skills

  • Thorough understanding of the healthcare space with an individual emphasis on relationship management and client service
  • Ability to work strategically and dynamically in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated empathy and ability to operate and be a positive influence in a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong independence with the ability to be a strategic and purposeful self-starter
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining long term successful relationships
