Drive retention and growth of rental and equipment sales within an assigned Texas territory. Develop and execute sales plans, source new business, prepare contracts and bids, manage customer relationships and service, generate reports, and collaborate with branch and district managers. Extensive driving and overnight travel required.
Responsible for the retention of existing customer base with continued sales growth. Develops assigned territory, implements sales plans to grow business and maintain current customer base. Sources and grow sales with new business opportunities within assigned market area/territory. Collaborates with District Sales Manager and Branch Manager to execute business plan.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for the sales and marketing of rental and purchase of equipment
- Provides service and support of existing customer base
- Sourcing new business opportunities
- Prepares and presents sales contracts/lease agreements
- Prepares sales plans, sales reports, expense, and daily call reports
- Develops new accounts and maintaining accounts from previous year
- Formulates bids on new and existing jobs and projects
- Identifies and acquires new service contract opportunities
- Receives customer orders and serves as the customer contact point
- Generates a referral network to assist in increasing the client base
- Occasionally assists in familiarizing customer on equipment and vehicles
- Aids in implementing, sustaining, and developing quality improvement processes that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service
- Maintains records of sales or other business transactions
- Prepare sales or other contracts
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction equipment and rental industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
- Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with ability to build long term business relationships
- Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
- First-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented
- Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, and communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of one to three years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Three to five years of experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license

Travel:
- Extensive driving required; overnight travel required
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
- This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
Work Environment:
- This job is generally performed in a retail and office environment; exposure to computer screens; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions
- Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
