In this role, you will investigate and resolve wire transfer inquiries, support operational excellence, and contribute to continuous improvement. You will gain hands-on exposure to global payments, correspondent banking, and investigation workflows. As a Payments lifecycle specialist in the Payments investigations team, you will investigate and resolve wire transfer inquiries and support day-to-day operational processing to deliver timely, accurate outcomes. You will follow documented procedures and controls, collaborate with partners, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and client service.

Job responsibilities
  • Process investigations and transactions in accordance with documented procedures, controls, and service level expectations.
  • Investigate and resolve wire transfer inquiries by reviewing payment details, research results, and related documentation.
  • Process manual instructions for funds and wire transfers across global currencies, as applicable to the role.
  • Analyze case and payment information to validate data accuracy, completeness, and required approvals.
  • Review and submit manual entries needed to resolve funds transfer inquiries, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
  • Provide clear updates to clients or client service partners on inquiry status, next steps, and outcomes.
  • Identify exceptions, risks, or control gaps, and escalate issues in a timely manner through the appropriate channels.
  • Support cross-training by sharing procedures and coaching teammates on assigned processes.
  • Perform backup production tasks and contribute ideas to improve workflow efficiency, quality, and controls.
  • Rotate across team functions as needed to maintain operational coverage and meet daily priorities.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience in international payment processing operations, including wire transfers and/or investigations.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for documenting cases and providing stakeholder updates.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and controls with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize work, take ownership, and escalate appropriately.
  • Proficiency with common productivity tools (for example, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and comfort working across multiple systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also managing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • 2 years of experience in payment operations (back office) within a bank, shared services, or financial services processing environment.
  • Experience with payment investigations and/or exception processing related to funds transfers.
  • Working knowledge of international payment messaging and conventions, including Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT).
  • Exposure to AI-enabled tools and willingness to adopt emerging technologies that support process improvement and operational excellence.
