About the role

Reporting to the SVP, People Operations, the People Operations Manager, Strategic Initiatives helps keep the People Operations function organized, connected, and moving forward. This is a hands-on operational role at the intersection of People Operations, project coordination, and team operations.

You’ll coordinate work across key initiatives, manage the team’s operating cadence, and build practical processes that create greater clarity, consistency, and follow-through. Rather than directly supporting the employee lifecycle, you’ll support the People Operations team itself. You’ll help organize the many moving parts of the function, ensure leaders and team members have the information they need, and make it easier for the team to focus on its highest priorities.

Success in this role requires exceptional organization, strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a willingness to step in wherever coordination or structure is needed. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone with People Operations experience who enjoys making teams work better behind the scenes. Ultimately, leaders and team members spend less time chasing information or logistics because the right systems and support are already in place.

What you'll do

  • Support the planning and execution of key People Operations initiatives by coordinating timelines, meetings, deliverables, and stakeholder input
  • Maintain project plans, trackers, and status updates in Asana so priorities, responsibilities, and next steps remain clear.

  • Create and maintain practical documentation, including project plans, meeting notes, decision logs, process documents, and status reports.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and other project support as needed.

Keep the Team Organized and Connected

  • Coordinate the operating rhythm of the People Operations team, including leadership meetings, team meetings, quarterly planning sessions, offsites, and recurring business reviews.
  • Prepare agendas and materials, capture decisions and action items, and follow up on commitments.
  • Maintain shared calendars, planning tools, team resources, and other systems that help the function stay aligned.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify or improve how the team organizes, communicates, and manages its work.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for team events, meetings, and other People Operations activities.

Own People Operations Team Onboarding

  • Create and coordinate the new hire experience for all new People Operations team members, including creating onboarding plans, schedules, resources, and checklists that create a consistent and welcoming experience.
  • Coordinate introductions, meetings, training, and other onboarding activities with hiring managers and cross-functional partners as needed.
  • Document knowledge required as a new People Operations team member and ensure that knowledge lives on SharePoint.
  • Check in with new team members and their managers throughout the onboarding process to identify gaps and support a smooth transition.
  • Continuously improve the onboarding experience based on feedback and the evolving needs of the team.

Support the Business of People Operations

  • Support budget administration by partnering with Finance to track spending, reconcile expenses, maintain documentation, and provide regular updates.
  • Maintain organized records for People Operations vendors, budgets, projects, and recurring activities.
  • Coordinate with Internal Communications and other partners to help ensure People Operations communications are prepared, reviewed, and delivered on time.
  • Build effective working relationships across Finance, Legal, IT, Internal Communications, and other teams that support People Operations priorities.

Support the SVP and People Operations Leadership Team

  • Provide operational support to the SVP and People Operations leadership team by helping organize priorities, materials, meetings, and follow-up.
  • Coordinate the development of presentations, briefing materials, and supporting documents for leadership meetings, Board updates, and company-wide communications.
  • Gather information and inputs from across the team and organize them into clear, useful materials.
  • Anticipate upcoming deadlines and coordination needs, helping the team prepare in advance.
  • Take on additional operational projects and team needs as priorities evolve.

What you'll bring

  • 5 + years of experience working in People Operations, Human Resources, business operations, program coordination, or a related field.
  • Experience in business operations, program management, project management, or a similar operational leadership role.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and details at the same time.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to take ownership of the work required to keep a team running smoothly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize information and create clear, polished materials.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Experience supporting budgets, vendors, team operations, onboarding, or administrative processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted working relationships across teams.
  • Curiosity, resourcefulness, and a bias toward action.
  • Experience using AI tools, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to improve research, drafting, analysis, or workflow efficiency.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms such as Asana, Jira, Monday.com, or similar tools.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Base range (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant.
