The Role
The Principal Architect position is a team member that provides technical expertise in the design and development of Presidio’s internal Managed Services platform and associated automations. The Principal Architect works closely with the Product Owner and other team members to develop solutions to complex technical and business challenges.  As part of this process, they may interact with key technical stakeholders to capture additional requirements, research and evaluate available options, perform testing or implement proofs of concept, assist with initial pilots and operationalizing of developed solutions, and document everything along the way.

Travel Requirements:

This is a remote role situated in the Continental US with 5% associated travel.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring assistance to Engineering team focusing on adoption of modern platform integrations and automations, such as Git, Docker, Ansible, Python, APIs, etc.
  • Continually identify areas for improving efficiency via automation throughout Managed Services.
  • Author technical articles for knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with Presidio team members to find innovative ways to solve or improve existing production security issues

Required Skills and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience
  • Minimum of 6 -9 years' experience in-depth architectural and technical knowledge for the following technologies:
    • Network Infrastructure (Routers/Switches/Load Balancers, etc.)
    • Security Controls (Firewalls, NAC, IPS/IDS, Endpoint, Content Filter, VPN, SIEM, etc.)
    • Virtualization Platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
    • Cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Strong scripting/programming experience with Python
  • Experience with DevOps technologies such as Git, Docker, Ansible, Python, APIs, etc.
  • Deep knowledge in Linux system administration & troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills - ability to de-construct problems
  • Demonstrated effective decision-making skills related to implementing architecture and design
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong industry knowledge and expertise in building comprehensive solutions.
  • Solid documentation experience
  • Ambitious and goal-oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete
  • Prior experience working closely with customers and collaborating with IT staff
  • Must be a US Citizen
