The Custom Market Research Team

IQVIA’s Custom Market Research team works at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and primary research to answer clients’ most critical business questions. The group leads custom qualitative and quantitative research engagements that inform launch strategies, brand positioning, and commercial effectiveness for global life sciences companies. By combining deep stakeholder insights with IQVIA’s unmatched data and analytics, CMR translates research into clear, actionable recommendations that drive real‑world impact.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned consulting leader who thrives at the intersection of client partnership, strategic insight, and delivery excellence. In this role, you will work directly with pharmaceutical and life sciences clients in a sell‑and‑deliver model, helping them solve complex business challenges through custom market research and strategic advisory work.

You will own senior‑level client relationships, shape meaningful engagements, and deliver projects that create real, measurable impact. Just as importantly, you’ll play a key role in building long‑term partnerships, growing our business, and mentoring the next generation of consultants.

If you’re energized by complex problem-solving, executive-level influence, and the opportunity to see your work translate into tangible business outcomes, this role offers a uniquely rewarding challenge.

What You’ll Do

Client Leadership & Impact

  • Serve as the primary owner of client engagements, with accountability for client satisfaction, quality delivery, and value creation.
  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders to understand their most pressing strategic questions and translate them into actionable, insight‑driven solutions.
  • Deliver engagements that create significant and lasting impact for clients.

Business Development & Growth

  • Meet or exceed annual revenue goals of $2–3M by identifying opportunities, expanding existing relationships, and developing new client partnerships.
  • Proactively uncover and pursue new revenue opportunities within current and prospective accounts.
  • Take a lead role in proposal development, ensuring solutions are thoughtful, actionable, and aligned to client needs.

Engagement & Team Leadership

  • Manage the client interface and guide project teams to ensure work is delivered efficiently, effectively, and of the highest quality.
  • Act as a solution-oriented thought partner, applying consultative problem‑solving to complex client challenges.
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify emerging industry needs and help translate them into scalable, commercial offerings.

Thought Leadership & Capability Building

  • Continuously build and deepen subject matter expertise through hands‑on work, industry conferences, speaking engagements, and professional forums.
  • Mentor, coach, and share knowledge with colleagues—helping elevate our collective capabilities and deliver world‑class solutions.

What You Bring

Experience & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience within the life sciences industry.
  • Deep, long‑standing relationships with clients—ideally at the senior/executive level—to support significant sales and growth goals.
  • Proven success in business development, with experience generating $2–3M+ in annual revenue.
  • Strong understanding of IQVIA data assets and core offerings.

Skills & Mindset

  • Strategic thinker with strong planning and change‑management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • Collaborative style while valuing differing perspectives and encouraging knowledge sharing.
  • High energy, curiosity, and accountability, with the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.
  • Commercially savvy, with the ability to price engagements profitably and thoughtfully.

Additional Details

  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–20%.
