Help shape the future of how Azure manages capacity at cloud scale. As part of the Gleaners team, you will tackle some of Azure's most complex and evolving operational challenges, helping transform manual processes, fragmented workflows, and reactive decision-making into scalable systems that improve speed, clarity, and execution. You will work across Capacity Management, Engineering, Finance, and Business Operations to identify opportunities to simplify work, enable automation, and create durable operating mechanisms that support the organization's future needs. As the team continues to evolve, you will help raise the bar on how operational excellence, business insight, and technology come together to deliver customer and business outcomes.

As a Principal Customer Experience Program Manager, you will help identify and address emerging customer, business, and operational needs across Azure Capacity Management. You will bring structure to ambiguous situations, coordinate across multiple teams, and develop scalable solutions that improve how work is planned, tracked, and executed. By combining business insight, operational expertise, and automation opportunities, you will help the organization increase speed, reduce manual effort, and continuously improve how decisions are made and implemented. Success in this role is measured not only by the work you deliver today, but by your ability to create scalable solutions, automation, and operating mechanisms that improve how the organization works tomorrow.

This opportunity will allow you to influence the future operating model for Azure Capacity Management through process improvement, automation, and organizational transformation. Develop deep business and technical expertise across capacity planning, operational excellence, governance, and large-scale cloud operations. Expand your leadership capabilities by partnering with stakeholders across Engineering, Finance, Product, and Business Operations to solve complex business challenges and deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, scale, and improve operational processes by translating customer, business, and organizational needs into sustainable solutions and actionable recommendations.
  • Partner across Engineering, Finance, Capacity Management, Business Operations, and Product teams to coordinate complex initiatives, align priorities, and improve execution of strategic and operational outcomes.
  • Design and implement automation, reporting, and workflow improvements that reduce manual effort, increase visibility, and help teams make informed decisions more efficiently.
  • Analyze operational, customer, and business signals to identify emerging trends, recurring challenges, and opportunities for process improvement, enabling teams to respond proactively and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks, business processes, and operating mechanisms that support consistent execution, transparency, and accountability across programs and organizations.
  • Serve as a trusted partner for addressing new and evolving business needs by bringing structure to ambiguous situations, coordinating stakeholders, and helping teams move from issue identification to solution implementation.
  • Contribute to organizational learning and long-term transformation by documenting best practices, sharing insights, and helping teams adopt scalable approaches, automation, and continuous improvement methods. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Customer Experience Program Mgmt IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
