Job Title: Principal EHS Consultant - Business Growth Leader
Location: Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; Tampa, FL; or Miami, FL (Remote work is available in any of the listed locations, with the ability to travel up to 50%.)
Contract: Full-time, permanent

About the Role

  • Miami, FL.

This is a senior, client-facing role designed for an accomplished safety and EHS consulting leader who thrives on building trusted relationships, expanding market presence, and creating a sustainable book of business.

In this role, you will serve as a consulting leader, responsible for driving growth across safety, occupational health, and broader EHS services. You will combine deep technical credibility with commercial acumen to expand our footprint in key regional industries while leading and mentoring high-performing consulting teams. This position will require travel.

As a Principal EHS Consultant - Business Growth Leader, you will:
  • Develop and execute a regional growth strategy focused on safety and EHS consulting services in the Southeast region

  • Build, manage, and grow a personal and regional book of business through client development, cross-selling, and long-term partnerships

  • Identify, pursue, and win new opportunities; lead proposal development, pricing strategy, and client presentations

  • Serve as a trusted senior advisor to clients on safety management systems, regulatory compliance, risk management, and EHS performance improvement

  • Lead and oversee complex consulting engagements, ensuring delivery excellence across scope, schedule, budget, and quality

  • Collaborate with national service line leaders to expand multidisciplinary solutions (safety, IH, EHS systems, sustainability, and risk)

  • Mentor and develop regional consulting talent, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture

  • Represent BSI in the market through networking, industry events, and thought leadership

  • Support regional and national clients with estimated 30–50% travel

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has 15+ years of consulting experience in safety, EHS, or risk management within a professional services environment

  • Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EHS, safety, engineering, science, or a related field

  • Brings deep safety consulting expertise, with the ability to integrate occupational health and industrial hygiene as part of broader EHS solutions

  • Demonstrates strong business development success, including at least 5 years of revenue generation, sales, and client growth experience

  • Has a proven record of growing markets, developing client portfolios, and driving sustainable revenue

  • Possesses strong executive presence and credibility with senior client stakeholders

  • Has established relationships in oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing, energy, or industrial sectors (strongly preferred)

  • Shows experience leading, mentoring, and scaling consulting teams

  • Is open to 30–50% travel

The salary for this position can range from $126,000 to $170,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
