Role description:

This role will form an integral part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) – Arcadis’ centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. Our GEC is made up of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across Romania, India and Philippines, providing Capability, Capacity and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.

The MEPF Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) in the GECs is comprised of cross-functional teams, that contribute to the development of innovative MEPF solutions that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Our ability to effectively manage projects, assess client needs, and provide technical guidance is crucial in delivering successful outcomes, using the most innovative way of doing computational design.  

What you will do: 

  • Design electrical systems for buildings, including lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution (up to 1kV), fire detection, security and CCTV systems.
  • Produce engineering designs and documentation using calculations, 3D/BIM modelling, diagrams and detailed execution drawings.
  • Plan and deliver electrical project scope, including budgets, resources, schedules and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, applicable codes, safety, sustainability and energy efficiency regulations.
  • Participate in design and client meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement and mentoring of junior engineers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Low Voltage / Building Services) with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in building electrical design.
  • Strong knowledge of LV electrical standards, regulations and electrical systems (power, lighting, grounding, lightning protection).
  • Experience with these sectors: Datacenters, Industrial, Semiconductors, Healthcare, Cleanrooms, Retail, Office, Residential.
  • Proficiency in design and calculation software (e.g. AutoCAD and relevant calculation tools); BIM/Revit knowledge is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills with a clear technical and quality focus.
  • Good to advanced English communication skills, eagerness to learn, and motivation to grow professionally and mentor junior engineers.
