Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all .
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
The NAND Pathfinding Team is chartered with envisioning, creating, developing, and deploying innovative solutions to the most difficult problems faced by non-volatile memory systems today and in the future. Leveraging a relatively small, highly selected group of technical contributors with expertise ranging from silicon to system, the focus is on cross-functional solutions utilizing vertical integration. We are looking for an engineer who will grow beyond a single discipline and become a leader at the intersection of technology, design, and system. In this role, you are expected to propose new concepts and architectures. You will also take a hands-on approach by actively engaging in design, prototyping, experimentation, and implementation to turn ideas into reality.
A successful candidate for this position will have hands-on development experience in NAND technology or NAND design, along with a strong desire to integrate expertise in technology, design, and system. Significant depth in device technology or circuit design is required, as well as a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and drive innovation. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, and will be eager to contribute both conceptually and practically to the advancement of disruptive NAND technology.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Innovate new solutions to complex multi-disciplinary problems by collaborating with team members with skill sets ranging from Si to system.
  • Generate innovative concepts and take a hands-on approach to design, prototype, and implement solutions.
  • Actively participate in experimental work, characterizations, simulations, and validation of new architectures and algorithms.
  • Exercise leadership skills by demonstrating the ability to drive complex projects from idea conception through evaluation and implementation.
  • Work closely with internal and external experts to accelerate project delivery and ensure high quality.
  • Educate and mentor other technical contributors within the organization to raise their level of technical expertise.

Successful candidate for this position will have:
  • Hands-on development experience and deep technical expertise in NAND technology or NAND design, with strong motivation to expand expertise into other fields, from Si to system and applications.
  • A proven track record of innovative solutions taken from conception through implementation, as demonstrated by patents, publications, conference publications, or other means.
  • Ability to articulate a vision of new concepts through excellent documentation and presentation skills.
  • Teamwork and leadership skills to inspire, motivate and drive peer contributors with varied skill sets towards a common goal.
  • Successful partnerships with internal and external subject matter experts, advancing product development outcomes and setting the direction for future NAND and system products

Required Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering (or a related field) and 5-10 years of experience in NAND technology or design development.
  • Passionate about learning and growing across technical domains.
  • Willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of non-volatile memory and systems
  • Good understanding of NAND design and layout principles.
  • Good understanding of NAND device physics.
  • Strong leadership skills and cross-functional teamwork
  • Self-motivated and significant problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to be deeply involved in both conceptual and practical aspects of technology development.
