Job Summary

Introba is seeking a Principal, Mechanical, to join our growing team in St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:Marketing
  • Represent Integral Group at meetings with project clients and other project stakeholders as required.

  • Meet or exceed specific revenue targets on an annual basis as identified by the Managing Principal within the annual strategic business plan.

  • Identify new project opportunities and work with the marketing team to write and deliver proposals.

  • Responsible for implementation of strategic business plan as prepared by the Managing Principal.

People
  • Provide the Management Team with staff performance criteria and information on all design staff.

  • Meet regularly with all team members to ensure issues are identified and action plans are in place.

  • Conduct team semi-annual performance reviews.

  • Keep track of design team vacation time and schedules.

  • Recommend training requirements to Human Resources.

  • Provide input to Human Resources on all design team employment issues.

  • Utilize leadership skills and motivation techniques to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction.

Financial
  • Provide workload forecasting as new projects are secured and provide progress analysis regarding prospective unsecured projects.

  • Ensure Deltek Financial system is updated with project plans on a regular basis.

  • Recommend distribution of new work based on staff availability as established by the team workload requirements.

Technical
  • Effect and implement programs to improve the quality of our service, products and systems to meet client's requirements and expectations and to minimize costs and maximize the company's competitive position.

  • Instill the concept of quality being the responsibility of every design team member.

  • Train staff in all phases of design process to ensure continuation of technical design operation when absent from the office or when staff is on vacation.

  • Promote quality issues with all members and in particular ensures that the quality control function is effectively performed.

  • Direct the quality assurance and control programs in the office.

  • Keep current on new developments in innovative design; included in this is participating in seminars and / or professional associations, attend trade shows relevant to company’s interests.

  • Company representative at related association meetings, plus dealing with city, provincial, state and federal officials.

  • Assure adequate field review services are provided to ensure adherence of contract documents.

  • Effect studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective actions required to remedy deviations impairing desired standards.

  • Conversant with codes of practice and standards.

Measures of Performance:
  • Client satisfaction on all projects.

  • Project financial performance (when acting as PM or PIC).

  • Turnovers of team members.

  • Awards and recognitions from peer groups.

  • Involvement in innovative ideas/trends in the engineering industry

  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to recognize and deal with priorities.

  • Completes commitments in an accurate and timely manner

  • Resolves team management problems promptly. Any unresolved problem will be presented with a complete suggested solution to the Managing Principal.

  • The measurable positive impact of engineering and quality control on the services of the company to its clients and the company's ability to improve its competitive effectiveness in the marketplace.

  • Attends all meetings as scheduled or as required.

  • Cooperates and works closely with Principals and all staff members.

  • Meets or exceeds the financial monthly and yearly revenue and cost targets for projects they are responsible for supporting.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15 years of specific Mechanical building systems design and/or sustainable design experience.

  • Professional Engineering License required.

  • Superior interpersonal skills with clients and staff.

  • Active Listener.

  • Communication and coaching skills.

  • Project management experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.

  • Professional Engineer.

  • LEED Accreditation.

  • Upholds, lives, and delivers the core values of the company.
