Principal Product Marketing Manager, AI

Job Description

Principal Product Marketing Manager – SUSE AI

About SUSE

At SUSE, we believe every business is on a journey of digital transformation, and that transformation can be enhanced and accelerated by open-source innovation. SUSE products and our processes are designed around the collective wisdom of our customers, community, partners, and employees.

The Role

As the Principal Product Marketing Manager for SUSE AI, you will be the definitive voice and chief storyteller for our AI portfolio. Reporting directly to the VP & General Manager of AI, you will own the end-to-end marketing strategy for our solutions designed to run AI workloads on top of a secure, cloud-native stack (built on SUSE Linux and Rancher).

This is not a traditional marketing role. The AI landscape is incredibly noisy, and cutting through that noise requires a rare blend of deep technical acumen and world-class storytelling. You will be responsible for translating complex architectural advantages, like containerised AI workloads, edge inferencing, and secure open-source supply chains, into compelling, business-level value propositions that resonate with C-suite executives, IT leaders, and developers alike.

From defining our global go-to-market strategy to crafting visionary keynotes and equipping our global salesforce and strategic partners, you will be the bridge between our cutting-edge engineering efforts and the broader market. If you are passionate about the intersection of open-source software, cloud-native infrastructure, and the AI revolution, this is your opportunity to define how the enterprise adopts AI for the next decade.

Key Responsibilities

As the owner of the SUSE AI marketing strategy you will be responsible for:

  • End-to-End Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy: Own and execute the global GTM strategy for the SUSE AI portfolio. Define target audiences, buyer personas, market segmentation, ecosystem partners, and the channels required to drive awareness and adoption.

  • Visionary Positioning & Messaging: Synthesise complex technical concepts into clear, differentiated messaging. You will define the narrative for why SUSE is the best platform for AI workloads, positioning us uniquely against competitors in the cloud and infrastructure space.

  • Compelling Storytelling & Content Creation: Act as the lead author for high-value content. Produce engaging whitepapers, blog posts, visionary videos, website copy, and keynote presentations that establish SUSE as a thought leader in open-source enterprise AI.

  • Ecosystem & Partner Marketing: Collaborate with strategic technology alliances (hardware vendors, cloud providers, ISVs, and System Integrators) to develop joint value propositions, co-marketing campaigns, and integrated GTM motions.

  • Sales Enablement & Evangelism: Equip the global sales, partner, and customer success teams with the tools they need to win. Develop pitch decks, battle cards, demo scripts, and ROI calculators. Serve as an evangelist for SUSE AI at global conferences, webinars, and analyst briefings.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner intimately with Product Management, Engineering, and broader SUSE Marketing teams to ensure alignment all the way through the release cycle. Act as the critical feedback loop between the market and the product team.

  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Keep a constant pulse on the rapidly evolving AI and cloud-native landscapes. Analyse competitor moves, emerging open-source AI projects, and customer trends to proactively adjust our messaging and influence the product roadmap.

Your Profile

You are a technologist at heart and a storyteller by trade. You don't just understand buzzwords; you deeply grasp the mechanics of how enterprise software, Kubernetes, AI, and machine learning models actually work in production.

You thrive in ambiguity, possess a high bias for action, and have the executive presence to report directly to a GM while influencing leaders across a global organization. You are just as comfortable whiteboarding a cloud-native architecture as you are writing a captivating manifesto on the future of enterprise AI.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5-10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Technical Evangelism, or Product Management within the enterprise software, cloud, or open-source infrastructure space.

  • Deep Technical Acumen: Proven understanding of cloud-native ecosystems (Kubernetes, CNCF projects), enterprise Linux, and cloud-native infrastructure.

  • AI/ML Domain Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the AI/ML landscape, including Generative AI, LLMs, MLOps, inferencing, and the challenges of running these workloads securely at scale.

  • Proven B2B SaaS/Software Track Record: Demonstrated success in launching complex technical products and driving measurable GTM outcomes.

  • Exceptional Communication: Brilliant writing, editing, and presentation skills. A portfolio of prior work (blogs, keynotes, whitepapers) that demonstrates your ability to simplify complicated concepts.

  • Strategic & Hands-On: Ability to oscillate between high-level strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute deliverables.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in working with open source community projects, preferably in the cloud native space. It would be highly desirable if you had previous experience working with product teams in the Kubernetes, Linux, cloud, and/or AI space.

  • Previous experience in a technical role (e.g., Software Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Developer Advocacy) prior to transitioning into marketing.

  • Deep understanding of key growth verticals for AI, such as Telco and Edge. Knowing the unique deployment challenges (e.g., latency, highly distributed environments) and business drivers in these sectors will be a massive advantage in shaping our GTM strategy and influencing the product roadmap.

  • Experience building joint marketing initiatives with hardware vendors (IHVs), cloud providers, or System Integrators (SIs).

Why Join Us?

You will be stepping into a high-impact role where your work directly shapes the global narrative and market success of SUSE’s future AI portfolio. Working closely with the VP & GM of AI and some of the smartest engineers in the open-source world, you will have the autonomy to shape how we build and market software for the next decade.
