Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Shape the future of digital product development through innovative solutions, thought leadership, and AI-accelerated delivery.
  • Help clients move AI from pilots into production by embedding intelligence directly into operational workflows, not bolting it on after the fact.
  • Operate as a trusted, senior, client-facing leader, partnering with executives to re-engineer growth-critical systems so they can adapt, scale, and enforce performance and financial outcomes.
  • Leverage deep technical pre-sales and solution leadership to drive measurable outcomes, build credibility, and increase win rates on complex pursuits.
  • Enjoy a hybrid work model combined with travel, a competitive compensation package, and robust benefits, including substantial PTO and 401(k) matching.

About the Role:

As a Principal Solutions Consultant specializing in AI-First Transformation, Architecture & Platform Advisory, and Technical Pre-Sales, you will play a critical role in bridging business needs with innovative technical solutions. You will lead high-stakes discovery and solution definition with executive stakeholders, shape pursuit strategy to drive revenue and protect margins, and build offerings, accelerators, and sales enablement materials that differentiate Sparq, position us well in the market, and show up in revenue.

You will work closely with sales, delivery, and technical teams to identify opportunities, create solutions, and guide clients through their digital transformation journeys. This role is ideal for a senior technology leader who combines strong technical depth with executive-ready communication and who consistently turns ambiguity into clear decisions, scalable plans, and repeatable assets.

Responsibilities:

1. Pre-Sales and Client Engagement

  • Own technical pursuit leadership for complex opportunities, partnering with sales to qualify, shape, and advance deals through decision points.
  • Lead discovery to frame the right problems, pressure-test assumptions, and surface root causes and constraints that others miss.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals and technical responses, emphasizing value-driven solutions, clear win themes, and defensible assumptions.
  • Shape deals by aligning solution scope, value narrative, and delivery approach to client outcomes, driving revenue while protecting margin through clear boundaries, phased roadmaps, and risk-managed commitments.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, ensuring alignment of solutions with business goals and operational needs.
  • Develop executive-ready narratives that connect business outcomes to architecture, investment, and measurable ROI.

2. Architecture and Platform Leadership

  • Architect innovative, scalable solutions tailored to client needs across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern software architectures (e.g., microservices, serverless), and modern data platforms (including Snowflake).
  • Lead technical deep-dives and provide strategic input on modernization, platform engineering, AI enablement, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Create high-level system designs, reference architectures, and investment-grade estimates, ensuring alignment with client goals, risk posture, and financial considerations.
  • Lead platform-aligned solutioning on AWS and Snowflake, translating business outcomes into reference architectures, roadmaps, and phased adoption plans.
  • Drive partner/co-sell motions with AWS and Snowflake teams as needed (e.g., joint discovery, architecture validation sessions, pursuit strategy, and mutual success plans).

3. Showing vs. Telling

  • Oversee the creation of Demos, Prototypes, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to validate proposed solutions and demonstrate feasibility.
  • Design Prototypes and PoCs that validate architecture, security, performance, and cost-to-value, especially for AWS and Snowflake-based patterns.
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure clear knowledge transfer, scalable implementation plans, and smooth handoffs from pre-sales to delivery.

4. Offerings and Enablement

  • Author whitepapers, blogs, and technical documentation to establish credibility and showcase organizational expertise.
  • Build and evolve repeatable offerings and accelerators (workshops, POVs, reference architectures, templates) that create differentiation and accelerate sales cycles.
  • Create sales enablement assets (solution briefs, one-pagers, talk tracks, proposal language) that clarify Sparq’s “why us” and enable consistent field execution.
  • Track adoption and impact of offerings/enablement (usage in pursuits, conversion, margin outcomes) and iterate based on what drives revenue.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and market trends to ensure solutions remain cutting-edge and relevant; share knowledge across teams to foster continuous improvement.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide billable consulting and advisory leadership during client engagements, including executive workshops, strategy and architecture advisory, and decision facilitation.
  • Serve as a senior strategic leader across pursuits and delivery, helping client and Sparq stakeholders align on outcomes, scope boundaries, risks, and measurable success criteria.
  • Support delivery leadership with ongoing advisory engagement as needed, including escalation support, solution governance, and continuous value realization.
  • Work closely with delivery, engineering, design, and sales teams to align solutions with client needs and organizational capabilities.
  • Serve as a liaison during the transition from pre-sales to delivery, providing technical context and ensuring seamless handoffs.
  • Mentor and elevate team capability through coaching, pattern sharing, and contribution to internal playbooks and standards.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution consulting, software engineering, modernization, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, client-facing solution engagements from discovery through proposal and handoff to delivery.
  • Strong foundation in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern architectures (microservices, serverless), and data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks; ability to translate platform capabilities into clear, outcome-focused narratives and executive-ready value cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technical solutions with client business objectives, risk posture, and financial constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, shape solution scope/value, and create reusable assets (offerings, accelerators, enablement) that improve win rate and/or margin.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for client and prospective client engagements, with the ability to manage hybrid work effectively.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Depth in AWS and/or Snowflake (architecture, security, governance, performance optimization, and delivery patterns).
  • Cloud and/or data platform certifications (AWS, Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, etc.).
  • Experience developing and refining client offerings and solutions in a consulting or IT services environment.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives, including legacy modernization and platform engineering.
