About the Role
We are looking for a thoughtful and execution-oriented Product Designer to join our growing team.This role is a contract position ideal for a designer who cares deeply about user experience, enjoys solving complex product problems, and is excited to design for children, families, and educators. As a Product Designer at Epic, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data partners to create intuitive, high-quality experiences across key user journeys. You will help shape product flows from concept to launch, improve usability across our platform, and contribute to experiences that are both engaging and effective. This role is especially well-suited for someone who has experience designing for consumer products, education products, discovery experiences, or personalized content systems, and who is comfortable using user insights, experimentation, and iteration to improve outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Design end-to-end product experiences across web and mobile, from early concepts to polished final designs
• Partner closely with product, engineering, and data teams to define user problems, explore solutions, and deliver high-quality experiences
• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for new features and product improvements
• Improve key user journeys such as onboarding, content discovery, search, recommendations, engagement, and subscription flows
• Use qualitative feedback, product data, and experimentation results to refine designs and support decision-making
• Contribute to and evolve Epic’s design system to ensure consistency and scalability across the product
• Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints in a fast-moving environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners across time zones and communicate design thinking clearly and effectively

Qualifications
• 2–5 years of experience in product design, UX design, interaction design, or a related field
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking, interaction design, and execution across digital products
• Strong interest in digital consumer products, education technology, or personalized product experiences
• Experience designing user flows, navigation systems, and high-quality interfaces for web and/or mobile products
• Ability to simplify complex workflows into clear, intuitive experiences
• Comfort working in a highly collaborative, remote, cross-functional environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain design rationale clearly to stakeholders
• Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese
• Passion for Epic’s mission to inspire kids to read and learn

• Experience designing for edtech, children’s products, family products, or educator-facing tools
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system
• Experience working with cross-functional global teams
