The Organization

What if K-12 education were designed to help all students develop lives of meaning and purpose? Wayfinder, a division of Lemnis, was founded at the Stanford d.school to answer this question. Our goal is to double our impact each year for the coming years. Our vision is to become the preeminent future-readiness curriculum company in the world — leading the global movement of purpose, meaning, and belonging-based education worldwide.

Wayfinder joined the Lemnis Collective as a nonprofit division in 2026. As a public charity, Lemnis is dedicated to the concept of the unlimited learner. Their mission is to create more accessible, flexible, learner-centered systems that help young people navigate the challenges and opportunities of the future. Wayfinder and Lemnis share that vision, especially when it comes to supporting learners in underserved communities and the institutions that serve them.

Wayfinder is the third organization to join the Lemnis Collective. The Collective brings mission-aligned organizations (both for-profit assets and nonprofits with earned revenue) under the Lemnis umbrella through mergers and acquisitions. Lemnis provides long-term, mission-driven investment, stability, freedom from the pressure of constant fundraising, and operational and strategic support, so organizations like Wayfinder can stay focused on our mission, impact, growth, and innovation.

What We Value

You’ll be joining a team of incredibly motivated and dedicated staff members committed to living our organization's values. We work collaboratively across teams, and we feel and act like a purpose-driven organization. To the best of our abilities, each person’s role aligns with their own sense of purpose, which feeds into Wayfinder’s larger sense of purpose.

Read this article about our workplace culture in Conscious Company.

We value equal access, inclusive community, and belonging, and these values are represented in our product, our team, and our school partners.

Product: We develop our learning tools using human-centered design principles. We work with grade-level experts to ensure our curriculum is developmentally appropriate and engaging at all levels. Every Wayfinder lesson is supported by relevant research, prototyped in classrooms, and vetted by teachers over rounds of feedback and iteration. We use Universal Design for Learning principles to give every student an equal opportunity to succeed.

Team: Our team is composed of people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. We intentionally recruit, hire, and work with people of all identities + experiences. We focus on belonging: being connected, accepted, and valued by the people around us.

School Partners: We intentionally target a wide array of educational partners, from traditional to non-traditional, that work with a range of students from different socioeconomic groups. We’ve taught our curriculum in high-need schools in the Bronx, independent schools in Silicon Valley, and after-school programs in San Antonio.

The Role

At Wayfinder, we believe every student deserves to develop belonging, purpose, and future-ready skills. Our web platform supports students, educators, and school communities through durable skill development, college and career readiness, and MTSS. We're looking for a Product Manager to help us build it with clarity, care, and momentum.

You’ll be the person who keeps our roadmap moving. As part of a small team, you’ll handle both product management and project management: shaping what we build and why, and managing the projects, tickets, and timelines that turn our plans into shipped features. You’ll make sure product, engineering, and product marketing are working from the same picture. You’ll also dig deep. Before we build anything, you’ll make sure we truly understand the problem, not just the broad strokes, by talking with educators, reviewing prototypes with stakeholders, and asking the questions that surface edge cases and key insights early.

This role is for someone who loves bringing people together around a shared plan, is comfortable in both technical conversations and classroom ones, and is excited about building AI-enabled products that make a real difference for students. You'll report to our VP of Product, and work closely with design, engineering, curriculum, and marketing.

We strongly encourage people from traditionally underrepresented populations in tech—such as women, People of Color, People with Disabilities, and LGBTQ+ people, etc—to apply!

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects across the product roadmap, owning timelines and progress from planning through release.

  • Facilitate sprint planning with engineering and design, keeping the backlog groomed and priorities clear for each cycle.

  • Write and maintain clear specs, user stories, and tickets, including acceptance criteria, so engineering can build with confidence.

  • Manage task creation and movement in Jira, keeping tickets organized, up to date, and moving through each stage of development.

  • Partner closely with engineering to understand technical constraints, make smart tradeoffs, and keep work moving.

  • Support QA and acceptance testing to confirm that what we ship matches the spec, and triage incoming bugs so the most important issues get fixed first.

  • Coordinate and facilitate discovery alongside design: identify stakeholders (including current and prospective partners), schedule review sessions, synthesize feedback, and help ensure we're building the right things in the right ways.

  • Dig into the details of the problems we're solving, asking the questions that uncover edge cases, dependencies, and unmet needs before they become surprises.

  • Coordinate feature launches from start to finish, set release timing, collaborate on support materials and announcements, and ensure product marketing and enablement, and support resources are ready before anything goes live.

  • Be the go-to source of product information for product marketing, enablement, and sales, answering questions, supporting RFP responses, and providing what teams need to communicate clearly with current and new partners.

  • Help keep in-product language clear and educator-friendly, reviewing copy on new features and suggesting edits that follow our product language guidelines.

  • Build consensus across teams, bringing different perspectives together and helping everyone align on priorities and decisions.

  • Define success metrics for features, track product analytics, and use data to guide decisions and measure impact.

  • Review incoming feedback from educators, partners, and internal teams throughout the year, and decide what to act on, whether that means building it now, adding it to the backlog, or closing the loop on why not.

  • Bring recommendations to roadmap planning based on what you're learning from feedback, data, and the market.

  • Stay current on the PreK-12 edtech landscape, including competitors, trends, and what districts are asking for, and share what you learn with the team.

  • Help shape and deliver AI-enabled features that make work easier for educators and learning more meaningful for students.

  • Communicate roadmap status, changes, and decisions clearly and proactively to stakeholders across the company.

Requirements

Essential experience

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, project management, or a closely related role on a software product.

  • Experience working on PreK-12 edtech products, ideally in areas like durable skill development, college and career readiness, or MTSS.

  • Strong technical understanding to work closely with engineers, discuss tradeoffs, and translate between technical and non-technical audiences.

  • A track record of managing complex projects, timelines, and backlogs, and of shipping on schedule.

  • Experience with Jira or similar task management software.

  • Strong skills in writing specs, user stories, and tickets that are clear, thorough, and easy to act on.

  • Experience working directly with internal and external stakeholders to review prototypes, gather feedback, and turn it into clear decisions.

  • Comfort with data: defining usage goals and success metrics, working with product analytics, and using evidence to make decisions.

  • A talent for building consensus and keeping teams aligned, even when priorities compete.

  • A habit of using AI tools to work faster and smarter, such as drafting tickets and specs, synthesizing feedback, or analyzing data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a knack for explaining product details clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.

  • A detail-oriented mindset and genuine curiosity about how people use products.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred experience

  • Experience building or managing AI-enabled products or features.

  • Familiarity with design thinking, user research, or usability testing.

  • Experience working in a startup or other fast-moving environment.

  • Experience working with product marketing or enablement teams on launches and messaging.

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
