The Role
- What a day looks like:
The Product Manager, Collections is responsible for delivering customer and agent-facing capabilities that support credit card collections and servicing strategies across the account lifecycle. This role partners closely with operations, risk, compliance, legal and technology to identify solutions, define requirements, and prioritize work that improves customer experience, operational efficiency, and business performance within a regulated banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development and execution for collections-related capabilities, including delinquency management, payment assistance, customer communications, self-service tools, agent workflows, and related servicing experiences.
- Gather and translate business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, process flows, and prioritized backlogs for technology and cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Collections Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Technology to ensure solutions are aligned to regulatory expectations, control requirements, and business objectives.
- Support end-to-end delivery from discovery through launch, including business case development, stakeholder alignment, testing, implementation, and post-launch performance monitoring.
You’re a great fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of product management, product ownership, or business/product delivery experience.
- 2+ years of experience in credit card collections, consumer collections, loan servicing, recoveries, or another bank-related collections function.
- Experience writing business requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for technical teams.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, technology, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience in credit card servicing or collections within a regulated financial services or banking environment.
- Experience supporting digital collections capabilities, including customer self-service, agent desktop tools, payment flows, hardship programs, or communication strategy.
- Familiarity with delinquency lifecycle management, roll rates, cure strategies, contact strategies, and operational collections KPIs.
- Experience with compliance-sensitive customer communications such as SMS, email, letters, and disclosures.
- Experience using data to evaluate product performance and drive continuous improvement.
