Production Planning Specialist

This role plays a vital part in supporting operational performance and customer satisfaction. By proactively managing production schedules, identifying potential constraints, and coordinating across multiple functions, you'll help improve On Time Delivery (OTD) performance, reduce lead times and ensure manufacturing commitments are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, manufacturing capacity, and material availability.
• Develop priorities and communicate support functions while taking an active role in problem resolution.
• Coordinate and monitor the flow of work through assembly and machining operations to ensure production schedules are achieved.
• Review, release, and manage work orders per system demand, ensuring dates meet organizational metrics.
• Periodically review non‑conformances and engineering changes, reworking work orders as required.
• Approve, release, and monitor the status of production and purchase requisitions.
• Monitor manufacturing capacity and recommend actions to address potential bottlenecks or resource constraints.
• Collaborate with the Order Fulfillment team to communicate sales‑order reschedules and level‑loading activities.
• Monitor and regularly update safety stock levels in the system as needed.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment, required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with JD Edwards or a comparable ERP/MRP system (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work on‑site in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and supply‑chain processes.
• Familiarity with HSE policies and commitment to compliance.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
