The Program Manager serves as a portfolio owner, responsible for overseeing assigned programs across underwriting performance, production, regulatory compliance, reinsurance alignment, and overall financial results. This role requires strong underwriting expertise, business acumen, and relationship management skills in a dynamic program insurance environment.

About the Commercial & Specialty Lines Team

The Commercial & Specialty Lines team is responsible for the selection, onboarding, oversight, and long-term management of Incline’s program portfolio. The team partners closely with MGA leaders, actuarial, reinsurance, regulatory, finance, and underwriting stakeholders to ensure programs align with Incline’s risk appetite and deliver sustainable profitability.

The Program Manager plays a central role in managing day-to-day portfolio oversight while contributing to strategic growth and program evaluation initiatives.

What You’ll Do

As Program Manager, you will serve as the primary business partner to assigned MGA-led programs, overseeing financial performance, underwriting discipline, production growth, and strategic alignment.

Reinsurance Coordination: Partner with the Director of Reinsurance to support placement of quota share and excess of loss treaties for new and renewing programs.  Ensure reinsurance structures support program profitability and risk transfer objectives.  Maintain alignment between underwriting practices and reinsurance expectations.

Actuarial & Financial Partnership: Collaborate with actuarial teams to monitor written premiums, rate adequacy, and loss ratios.  Coordinate rate, form, and rule filings with MGAs to maintain program profitability and regulatory compliance.  Analyze program financial data to support informed portfolio decisions.

Underwriting Oversight & Referrals: Conduct annual (or more frequent) underwriting file reviews to ensure adherence to guidelines and appropriate risk selection.  Manage underwriting referrals and evaluate authority thresholds based on volume, profitability, and reinsurance oversight expectations.  Review findings from regulatory audits and coordinate follow-up actions as necessary.

Relationship Management & Communication: Maintain regular communication with key MGA personnel to align on production, profitability, and strategic initiatives.  Represent Incline professionally in internal and external discussions.  Travel as needed (up to 20%) to support program oversight and relationship development.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a commercially minded insurance professional who combines underwriting expertise with strong portfolio management and relationship-building skills.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or personal lines underwriting, product management, or insurance sales.  Experience across multiple lines of business preferred.  Prior experience working with MGA programs or delegated authority models strongly preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Technical & Business Expertise: Strong understanding of underwriting principles, portfolio management, and insurance profitability drivers.  Ability to analyze financial performance, loss ratios, and production trends.  Familiarity with reinsurance structures and regulatory filing processes preferred.

Core Competencies: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.  Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.  Ability to proactively identify underwriting, regulatory, or financial challenges.  Ability to make timely decisions aligned with company risk appetite.  Proven ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
