About the role:

The Project Executive is the senior leader responsible for ensuring the successful execution of Divcon Controls’ most complex building automation and mission‑critical data center projects from Start (Engaging with Sales to Setup the Deal for Success) to finish (Closeout and Customer Relationships into Service and beyond). This role oversees all aspects of project delivery—including deal setup, negotiation, contracting, scope development, subcontracting, budget management, resource allocation/planning, schedule, safety, quality, and client satisfaction—while directly managing Project Managers and ensuring alignment across sales, field operations, engineering, supply chain, panel production and subcontractor partners.


As the executive escalation point for high‑value, high‑visibility projects, the Project Executive drives strategic decision‑making, fosters strong client relationships, and ensures that Divcon’s commitments are met with consistency, accuracy, and excellence. Field presence is an integral part of this role, and Project Executives are expected to spend a minimum of 50% of their time in field, working directly with Project Managers to ensure project delivery and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Oversee the full lifecycle delivery of multiple concurrent BAS/EPMS/controls projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, safely and in compliance with Divcon standards and contract requirements.
  • Lead major project meetings, including kickoff sessions, OAC meetings, and executive‑level reporting.
  • Drive proactive management of cost, schedule, risk, and procurement.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable codes and technical standards.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for hyperscaler, colocation, and general contractor partners.
  • Build and maintain long‑term, trust‑based relationships with client leadership.
  • Communicate risks, changes, and project strategies clearly and professionally.
  • Lead high‑level negotiations related to scope, change orders, and contractual matters.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly supervise Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field leadership roles.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development to build a high‑performing project delivery team.
  • Support recruiting and succession planning for future leadership needs.
  • Model and reinforce operational discipline, accountability, and teamwork.

Financial Management

  • Maintain complete ownership of P&L performance across assigned projects.
  • Oversee forecasting, revenue recognition, billing accuracy, and cash flow.
  • Identify cost risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Partner with estimating and business development for new pursuits and budgeting activities.
  • Change and Cost Management within project contract requirements to capture shifts in scope, cost or schedule to protect bottom line performance.

Technical & Operational Oversight

  • Provide guidance on BAS, EPMS, SCADA, and mission‑critical control system requirements.
  • Review design packages, submittals, RFIs, and commissioning plans for technical completeness.
  • Ensure systems are delivered fully functional, documented, and ready for turnover.
  • Support integration of advanced control features, including demand response and grid‑edge functionality.

Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Champion a safety‑first culture across all project sites.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, site‑specific safety programs, and Divcon safety policy.
  • Enforce quality standards across installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in audits, site walks, and lessons‑learned reviews.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in building automation, electrical construction, or mission‑critical MEP project environments.
  • 5+ years in a senior project management or executive‑level role overseeing multi‑site or large‑scale projects.
  • Experience delivering mission‑critical data center projects (Tier III/IV, hyperscale, or colocation).
  • Proven ability to manage complex project portfolios exceeding $20M annually.
  • Strong understanding of BAS/BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and related control systems.
  • Expertise in construction contracts, change order workflows, and subcontractor management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Procore, MS Project, etc.).
  • OSHA 30 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.
    • If certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 30 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.

Preferred

  • Experience with liquid cooling infrastructure, CDUs, or AI‑driven data center technologies.
  • Knowledge of Texas energy regulations and demand response programs.
  • PMP certification or relevant professional credential.
  • PE license or engineering background.
  • Experience working with hyperscaler clients.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel by plane or vehicle a minimum of 50% based on work site locations, with possibilities for higher travel based on business needs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs and lifts as required
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and small components
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Visual keenness to read schematics, labels, and digital displays
  • Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions
  • Capability to safely operate hand and power tools
