Born in Texas in 2003, we own and operate over 30 utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects in local communities across the United States, totaling 4 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect jobsites, projects and wind turbines, solar farms, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • Climb wind turbines to inspect maintenance practices.
  • Inspect work quality according to contract and process specifications.
  • Coordinate activities with site crews, subcontractors, EHS, and project/plant management
  • Coordinate quarterly service provider collaboration calls and plant inspections.
  • Work with plants and projects to develop improvement plans based on tracking and trending findings.
  • Cooperates in Event Report Management and for all the implementation of relative corrective actions. Systematically records the nonconformity or event reports issued and identifies appropriate corrective actions.
  • ·Manages collaboration of measurement instruments and related certifications.
  • Inform the Project Manager or Plan Manager of any deviations.    
  • Checks the completeness and conformity to specified applicable requirements, standards, and/or directives.
  • Ensure that the inspections are conducted and that personnel have access to all required project documentation.
  • ·Makes site personnel aware of and train them on quality topics.
  • Ensures, whenever necessary, the update of site quality control plans / control procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player and have effective communication skills in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
  • Bachelor’s/associate degree in related field preferred, but high school graduate is a minimum.
  • Prior experience with wind turbines, solar equipment and battery energy storage systems preferred.
  • Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
  •  Six years or more of work in Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
  • Possess a professional QAQC certification. ASQ certification preferred – Certified Quality Inspector or other nationally recognized certification.
  • Possess the ability to read and understand product drawings and to ensure compliance and adherence to all safety and quality expectations according to rules, regulations, and standards set by LRE.
  •  Working knowledge and ability to use measuring instruments and test equipment
  • ·Must be proficient in all Microsoft Suite programs
  • ·Experience with Maximo preferred
  •  Knowledgeable of ISO 9001 program elements and ability to transfer that knowledge into actionable items in the renewable energy business.
  • ·        Strong computer skills required.
  • ·        Strong analytical skills required.
  • ·        Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • ·        Valid Driver’s license is required.
  • ·        Expected travel will be up to 75%.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, and comprehension.
  • Will be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely.
  • Will be required to climb wind turbine towers.
  • Able to complete the Leeward QEW (qualified electrical worker) program within the first year.
  • Able to complete the competent climber and training on all Leeward rescue equipment. This could specifically be listed as TSL competent climber, SRK11 and SPARK kit.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The Quality Control Technician will work in multiple environments, including office, warehouse, and in a trailer or building on construction sites and wind and solar farms.
  • He/she must possess a vision (corrected or uncorrected) that allows for clear visibility from twenty inches or less.
  • Job sites will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking, bells whistles and alarms
  • The above description covers the fundamental responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician position.

  • Will be required to work in inclement weather.
