Simplesense builds, deploys, and sustains the Installation Resilience Platform that enables mission operators to rapidly adapt and respond. The Platform protects critical infrastructure from cyber attack while unlocking previously siloed information to monitor, diagnose, and improve response times to incidents. Our adversaries rapidly adopt the latest technology: we help defense users respond in kind.

Simplesense is a non-traditional defense contractor and prime on the Air Force's Installation Resilience Operations Command and Control (IROC) program, which is now expanding to five additional Air Force, Space Force, and Army installations from the one prototype installation, Tyndall Air Force Base.

Our team combines over 100 years of direct mission experience solving hard problems with 50 years technical expertise deploying DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure, giving us a deep appreciation for our customers’ mission and end users’ priorities. We build for scale, architecting and prioritizing technical work for long term sustainability.

Simplesense is seeking a driven and organized Recruiter & HR Generalist to join our growing team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), your primary mission is to identify and hire top-tier talent for our government contracting business. Secondarily, you will support the day-to-day HR operations that keep our team running smoothly. This is a "doer" role ideal for an emerging recruiter with 3–5 years of experience who is ready to own the hiring lifecycle while building broader HR skills.
This position reports to the COO

Core Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)
  • Full-Cycle Recruiting: Execute the hiring process for technical and non-technical roles, from posting jobs to coordinating offer letters.
  • Sourcing: Proactively look for candidates using LinkedIn, job boards, and professional networks to build a pipeline of talent for IT and defense-focused roles.
  • Screening: Conduct initial phone screens to assess technical fit, security clearance eligibility, and cultural alignment.
  • Coordination: Manage interview scheduling across multiple time zones and stakeholders using our applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Candidate Experience: Ensure every applicant receives clear, timely communication throughout the process.
HR Operations & Generalist Support
  • Onboarding: Facilitate the new hire process, ensuring equipment, accounts, and orientation schedules are ready for Day 1.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist employees with basic benefits questions (health, dental, 401k) and support open enrollment periods.
  • Employee Records: Maintain accurate digital files and employee data within the HRIS (e.g., Namely, Unanet).
  • Compliance Support: Assist with state registration filings and ensure labor law posters and policies are up to date.
  • Culture & Support: Help organize virtual or in-person team events and serve as a friendly resource for general employee inquiries.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience, with a primary focus on technical recruitment.
  • Recruiting Skills: Experience sourcing and hiring for technical roles (e.g., Software Engineers, DevOps, Analysts) or government contracting roles.
  • HR Knowledge: Familiarity with basic HR concepts (benefits, onboarding, compliance) and a desire to learn more.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable reaching out to candidates and coordinating with hiring managers.
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience using an ATS (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail).
  • Organization: High attention to detail and the ability to keep track of multiple candidates and administrative tasks simultaneously.
Ideal Candidate Will Also Have
  • Experience recruiting for government contractors (GovCon) or within the defense industry.
  • Basic understanding of security clearance requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Namely, Unanet).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain government clearance.

Pay Range: $75,000-$90,000 per year, depending on your experience, skill, and location.

Our compensation ranges are developed using market benchmarking tools and regularly reviewed to ensure alignment with competitive pay practices and internal equity. In addition to base pay, all employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits.
