What You’ll be Doing

As an experienced Regional Account Director, you’ll play an integral role in ZTR’s success and growth, using your energy, network, resourcefulness and charisma to identify, nurture and close new sales opportunities. You will rapidly learn all you can about the Railway industry in the context of ZTR products and solutions, build on existing ZTR relationships and develop new key relationships. Your ability to understand ZTR solutions, what problems they resolve and what value they provide clients is key to driving positive impact for our customer’s business.


The Regional Account Director will be driving the growth of Rail Car Telematic Solutions and Locomotive Modernization Systems with Railways and Industrial companies across the United States.


Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and engage key prospects, driving new customer acquisition from initial outreach through broader program implementation and long-term success.
  • Rapidly assess prospects’ business priorities, fleet modernization needs, and environmental targets to position ZTR solutions as essential to their success.
  • Deliver compelling, value-driven demonstrations tailored to each stakeholder persona, emphasizing how ZTR’s solutions address their specific challenges and objectives.
  • Actively represent ZTR at industry trade shows, networking events, and strategic forums to generate new leads, build relationships, and drive sales pipeline growth.
  • Create and successfully deliver compelling pitches to prospects, effectively communicating ZTR’s value proposition to generate interest and secure new deals.
  • Develop and execute targeted prospecting strategies to expand market presence, leveraging industry research, networking, and outbound engagement.

Who you are:

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales within the rail industry is an asset
  • Must have technical aptitude and/or experience selling a technical product 
  • A people person, with a friendly and positive manner
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, self-development and lifelong learning
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A tenacious self-starter, willing to use a Challenger Model and has a personal drive to succeed
  • Demonstrated achievement in a goal-driven sales environment
  • Experience with the rail industry, industrial telematics, condition monitoring and/or control systems an asset
