Scope of Position


This strategic and results-oriented professional, as part of the Watts Sales organization, is responsible for driving profitable growth, market expansion, and specification development for Watts Engineered and Specification Products serving industrial applications, with a primary focus on food processing, beverage processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and related industrial markets.


The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies that increase market penetration, strengthen channel performance, expand specification activity, and drive revenue growth across assigned territories. This role serves as the primary commercial leader for the region and partners closely with manufacturer's representative agencies, wholesale distribution partners, engineering firms, contractors, end users, and internal business partners to identify opportunities, influence specifications, support project development, and deliver business results.


The Regional Sales Manager acts as the voice of the customer within the organization and provides market intelligence, competitive insights, customer feedback, and business recommendations that support product development, pricing strategies, commercial initiatives, and long-term growth objectives.

This position does not have direct reports but provides leadership, coaching, and performance guidance to independent manufacturer's representative agencies and channel partners throughout the territory.


Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute strategic regional sales plans aligned with annual operating plan objectives, growth initiatives, and market opportunities.
  • Achieve or exceed revenue, growth, margin, specification, and territory performance goals established for the assigned region.
  • Lead and influence manufacturer's representative agencies to improve market coverage, customer engagement, project development, and sales performance throughout the territory.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and sales objectives with representative agencies and conduct regular business reviews to evaluate progress, identify opportunities, and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with engineering firms, end users, contractors, OEMs, wholesale distributors, consulting engineers, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Drive biased specifications and basis-of-design positioning for Watts solutions through direct engagement with engineers, consultants, and specification influencers.
  • Identify, qualify, track, and advance project opportunities from initial planning through specification, quotation, procurement, and project award.
  • Develop territory growth strategies that increase market penetration, specification activity, channel engagement, and competitive positioning.
  • Analyze market trends, customer requirements, competitive activity, pricing pressures, and emerging opportunities to support business growth and market share expansion.
  • Provide regular forecasting, pipeline analysis, business updates, and strategic recommendations to sales leadership.
  • Utilize CRM platforms and reporting tools to maintain accurate opportunity pipelines, account plans, forecasts, and territory activity.
  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Pricing, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and Technical Support teams to support customer needs and improve business outcomes.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by communicating market intelligence, customer feedback, application requirements, and competitive insights that influence business strategy and product direction.
  • Support new product introductions, commercialization initiatives, pricing programs, market launches, and demand-generation activities within the region.
  • Develop recommendations regarding product enhancements, market opportunities, competitive positioning, and commercial programs that support long-term growth objectives.
  • Represent Watts at industry conferences, trade shows, customer events, technical seminars, and professional association meetings.
  • Deliver product and application training to representative agencies, distributors, engineers, contractors, and customers to increase market awareness and adoption of Watts solutions.
  • Proactively resolve customer concerns, channel conflicts, and project-related challenges while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve territory performance, customer experience, channel effectiveness, and sales productivity.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Sales Leadership or Company management.

  • Travel approximately 50%-70% throughout the assigned territory.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Systems, Plumbing Technology, or related discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive technical sales, specification sales, business development, or channel management experience.
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth through representative agencies, engineering influence, wholesale distribution, and project-based sales.
  • Experience developing and executing territory business plans and managing complex sales pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of industrial processing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, plumbing, flow control, or related technical markets.
  • Proven ability to influence engineers, consulting firms, contractors, distributors, and strategic decision-makers.
  • Strong forecasting, financial acumen, opportunity management, and territory planning capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and sales analytics tools to manage forecasting and territory performance.
  • Ability to operate independently while influencing multiple stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
  • Travel between 50 - 70%.

Working Conditions:


While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to occasionally travel to and work in the office at the North Andover location for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management.

Pay Range


The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 - $139,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
