Job Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ferrovial Energy is seeking highly motivated intern to support its PPA origination and commercial strategy, power marketing, and market innovation efforts in the U.S. and to assist in strengthening its position in markets overseas.  The commercial team is responsible for originating, structuring, and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for renewable power plants and tolling agreements for utility scale storage projects.

This internship is well‑suited for students with an interest in the intersection of energy markets, public policy, sustainability, and commercial strategy, and offers hands‑on exposure to how renewable energy assets are positioned, marketed, and contracted in U.S. power markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on project needs and background, responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting PPA origination activities for renewable generation utility scale batteries

  • Developing materials for marketing renewable energy projects for corporates, utilities, technological companies, and other potential off-takers

  • Supporting commercial analysis of electricity markets, pricing structures

  • Conducting research on corporate sustainability goals, energy procurement trends, and buyer behavior

  • Profiling potential off-taker profiles and creating a Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy

  • Supporting competitive analysis of renewable energy offerings across U.S. power markets

  • Assessing how policy, regulation, and market design impact renewable energy commercialization

  • Preparing presentations, briefing notes, and market summaries for internal and external stakeholders

  • Coordinating across internal teams including development, finance, legal, and communications

  • Maintaining databases, trackers, and internal reporting tools

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Energy, Sustainability, Public Policy, Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, knowing Python and VBA is a plus

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Interest in renewable energy, infrastructure, or energy markets

Preferred:

  • Prior coursework or experience related to renewable energy, climate policy, or infrastructure

  • Understanding of utility‑scale solar, energy storage, or clean energy markets

  • Experience preparing policy or market analysis reports

  • Interest in the commercial and strategic aspects of the energy transition

  • Spanish proficiency is a plus, but not required
