Retail Production Assistant

SoFi is seeking a proactive, high-energy Production Assistant to serve as the backbone for our top-producing Retail Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs). In this role, you aren’t just a support player; you are the engine that keeps the loan origination process moving.

You’ll act as the primary bridge between borrowers, realtors, and our internal operations team, ensuring every file is structured for success from day one. If you are detail-focused, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do
  • Business Development & Retention: Develop and execute targeted marketing strategies to engage the existing book of business for client retention, while proactively building relationships with prospective clients and key centers of influence to drive new-to-bank growth.
  • Loan Structuring & Analysis: Pull and analyze credit reports, review income/asset documentation, and assist MLOs in determining the optimal loan structure for clients.
  • Pipeline Management: Run Desktop Underwriter (DU), stack files for submission, and proactively request/clear underwriting conditions to ensure "on-time" closings.
  • Client Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers and realtors, providing status updates and maintaining a seamless white-glove experience.
  • Front-End Support: Take initial application information over the phone, schedule high-priority appointments, and manage MLO calendars.
  • Data Integrity: Track all document requests in Encompass and Salesforce. Review incoming files within 24 hours to catch discrepancies, omissions, or income/asset issues before they hit underwriting.
  • Problem Solving: Collaborate directly with MLOs and Underwriters to resolve complex file issues and documentation gaps.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to company policy and state/federal regulatory guidelines (RESPA, TILA, etc.) to ensure every file is audit-ready.
What You’ll Need
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional office experience, with a minimum of 1 year specifically in the mortgage or banking industry.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to manage client relationships and execute marketing initiatives aimed at both retention and new lead generation.
  • Technical Knowledge: General fluency in FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA guidelines.
  • Tech Stack: Previous experience with Encompass LOS (or similar mortgage software) and proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Precision: An uncompromising eye for detail and the ability to juggle a high-volume pipeline.
  • Communication: Elite verbal and written communication skills—you’ll be representing SoFi to clients and external partners daily.
Nice to Have
  • Advanced Tools: Direct experience with Blend and/or Salesforce.
  • Origination Background: 1+ years of experience as a Loan Originator or Senior Processor.
  • Licensing Multiplier: National and multi-state NMLS licensing maintained within the past 12 months.
