Position Summary 

The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Implementation Specialist is responsible for providing external business customers with technical support with the implementation of their billing application software and associated software solutions. The RCM Implementation Specialist is also responsible for providing software configuration against defined user billing and reimbursement requirements and specifications. The RCM Implementation Specialist works in partnership with the development team to ensure all billing application software and software solutions are implemented to meet business customer and project expectations. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Work directly with clients as an RCM expert and an essential member of the project team 
  • Apply RCM knowledge and expertise to guide customers in critical system configuration to satisfy and possibly exceed current requirements 
  • Use knowledge of RCM best practices to recommend appropriate system set-up to customers 
  • Apply technical and operational knowledge and expertise to perform software and integration testing of implemented software systems and solutions 
  • Resolve identified issues requiring changes to implemented software applications and solutions 
  • Develop scripts (test cases) for newly implemented software applications and solutions 
  • Work closely with the development team in gathering and reviewing business client feedback and assist in writing user requirement documents 
  • Work closely with engineering resources to define requirements for product changes 
  • Contribute to the development of and tracking against project plans around project progress, milestones and targeted implementation date 
  • Identify risks that could impact the business client’s stated business objectives and develop risk mitigation plans to manage the risk with the development and implementation teams 
  • Ensure all business client communication and documentation is recorded in appropriate repositories to maintain product documentation 
  • Test and troubleshoot final system implementations 
  • Provide training and end-user support during and after the implementation process 
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Information Systems, or other closely related field 
  • 5 years professional work experience in RCM 
  • 3 years professional experience in healthcare billing 
  • Strong working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems, preferably in a Health and Human Services setting 
  • Strong working knowledge of Information Technology, software solutions, and software management systems 
  • Demonstrated ability to use effective and results-oriented problem solving and critical thinking skills; strong troubleshooting ability 
  • Demonstrated ability to use strong analytical skills 
  • Effective interpersonal and people skills 
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, establish and manage competing priorities, work independently and be proactive and perform effectively under pressure 
  • Ability to anticipate issues and risk and work proactively to develop alternatives to meet project goals 
  • Strong and effective communication skills (verbal and written) 
  • Pays very close attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment 
  • Ability to travel 

*Professional experience in Behavioral Health billing preferred, however not a requirement

Salary: $65,000 - $100,000
