About The Team

The Revenue Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Revenue and serve as a critical technical contributor on the Revenue team, supporting our growth as a publicly traded company. In this role, you will partner closely with teams across the organization to solve complex revenue recognition challenges, enhance process efficiency through automation, and support our expanding international operations and strategic partnerships. You'll have a direct impact on technical accounting matters, including ASC 606 assessments, systems optimization, and the monthly close, reporting and SOX processes.

About the Job

The Revenue Manager oversees the full end-to-end revenue cycle and partners with various cross-functional teams to enhance revenue operations and lead accounting for complex multiple-element revenue arrangements. This role requires the candidate to have a strong understanding and application of revenue recognition guidance for subscription, hardware, and advertising revenue streams under US GAAP. 

This role also heavily focuses on data and process enhancement projects and requires a project management mindset and the ability to multitask and prioritize to be successful.

For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $118,000 to $176,000 USD. 

Note: We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do
  • Execute accurate and timely revenue close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis for revenue, deferred revenue, contra-revenue and cost of sale accounts
  • Prepare revenue recognition assessments for complex contracts, applying ASC 606 guidance for performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications and principal vs. agent considerations
  • Serve as a technical resource to provide revenue expertise and guidance to cross-functional partners on sales, product, and operations teams
  • Prepare revenue analysis, KPIs, and metrics to support management decision making, identify trends, and investigate variances with root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls in accordance with SOX compliance requirements and other public company reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth quarterly and year-end review and audit processes
  • Define and lead process creation and system implementation related to new product offerings to ensure scalable revenue processes
  • Design and document revenue policies and processes across revenue streams, develop implementation guidance for cross-functional teams, and identify opportunities to strengthen controls while focusing on innovation and enabling business scalability.
  • Lead multiple cross-functional work streams by creating thoughtful project plans, efficiently multitasking, and adhering to tight deadlines
  • Implement and enhance systematic processes and automation, including exploration of AI driven solutions, to support our scalability goals
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field; MBA or Masters’ degree is a plus
  • CPA or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including specific experience in revenue recognition and revenue accounting
  • Experience in a public company environment, with familiarity in working under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and SEC reporting
  • Strong background in applying ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) and other relevant accounting standards
  • Ability to excel in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment; delivering accuracy while managing to deadlines where adaptability is imperative.
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and solve problems in ambiguous environments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to articulate verbally and in writing, willingness to appropriately explain difficult issues; ability to think quickly and thoughtfully
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage a high volume of requests
  • Ability to understand broader business, operational, and financial issues
  • Innate attention to detail
