Job Description

Esper is seeking a Sales Development Manager (SDR) to play a key role in our sales team, responsible for driving top-of-funnel pipeline growth through prospecting and lead generation. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, results-driven individual with a passion for public sector technology and sales. This role requires a strong ability to engage with government decision-makers, schedule high-quality product demonstrations, and generate qualified opportunities for Account Executives. The Sales Development Representative will report to the Head of Growth and work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop new business opportunities.

What You’ll Do

- Support 1-2 Account Executives by prospecting and scheduling product demos.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned prospect lists and expand into ancillary jurisdiction types.
- Quickly develop a thorough knowledge of Esper’s products and how they address key challenges in government policymaking and operations.
- Execute outreach campaigns and sequences created by yourself or sales management.
- Maintain a high volume of daily prospecting calls (60+ calls per day) and emails to engage potential customers.
- Establish credibility and rapport with prospects quickly to convert initial conversations into meaningful sales opportunities.
- Meet and exceed monthly quotas for scheduled demos and qualified opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

- 0 - 2 years of experience working in sales, preferably within B2B SaaS or public sector technology.
- Passion for selling technology solutions that enhance government efficiency and policymaking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Competitive and driven to succeed, with a strong ability to handle objections and remain persistent.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply industry-specific terminology and product knowledge.
- Experience using Hubspot or a comparable CRM is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Political Science, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Location

This is a hybrid position open to candidates residing in Austin, TX, with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $45,000 - $60,000
Additional Earnings: Commission and other performance-based incentives
