Partner with sales to design and present network and physical infrastructure solutions, create technical schematics and site maps, audit existing network performance, advise on hardware and cabling, pitch ROI, and support pre-sales and on-site coordination to reduce post-sale changes.
Description
As a Sales Engineer, you will partner with the sales team to analyze client traffic patterns, map multi-site connectivity, and advise on complex physical infrastructure and/or physical security solutions. You will design and translate the technical capabilities of system solutions into clear business value for customers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Working with prospective clients to design new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
- Building and delivering presentations showcasing product capabilities including hardware and networking support for customers’ networks, routers, switches, and servers.
- Creating comprehensive technical schematics and equipment layouts for customers.
- Auditing customers’ existing network layouts, circuit capacities, and application performance bottlenecks.
- Pitching operational ROI to the customer.
- Building trust with on-site facilities managers and engineering teams.
- Creating accurate pre-sales engineering site mapping to reduce post-sale change orders or equipment adjustments.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in networking and security management, computer science, or related field is preferred.
- Network Certifications highly desired: Network+, Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Extreme, Fortinet, CompTIA and HP certifications.
- Knowledge of Fiber, CAT 5e, 6, 6A is a plus.
- 3+ years' experience in network architecture and deployment is highly desired.
- Ability to travel. Position can be up to 50% travel, both in and out of state, including overnight stays.
- Must have an exceptional driving record and have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
- Must have the ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working at heights of 3 to 40 ft.
