The Sales Engineer will support the sales team by providing technical expertise and guidance during the sales process. This role involves understanding the customer requirements, demonstrating Kaseware technical solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful implementations. The Sales Engineer will act as a technical advisor, building credibility and trust with potential clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the Growth Team’s technical expert on the Kaseware platform and component technologies, achieving comprehensive mastery of all Kaseware technologies.
  • Requirements & Use Case Analysis: A core responsibility will be to develop, implement, and follow processes for pre-sale analysis of customer use cases and requirements. Conduct technical discovery meetings, read customer documentation, and document findings in detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) and internal systems.
  • Presentations and Demonstrations: Collaborate with the Sales Team to understand customer requirements and deliver tailored technical presentations and demonstrations of Kaseware solutions to both new, and existing customers.
  • Technical Support:  Provide 1st-level technical support during the pre-sales cycle for new opportunities and upsells, conducting technical conversations with various technical stakeholders to include end users, system administrators, IT staff, resellers, and system integrators.
  • Content Creation & Sales Enablement: Develop and enhance technical documentation and collateral to support the Growth Team's understanding and usage of Kaseware products and services.
  • Sales Deliverables: Contribute to professional responses to customer RFPs/RFIs and technical requests.
  • Product Management Support: Capture feature requests and provide feedback to Product Management, Sales, Development, Customer Operations, Support, Engineering, and Marketing teams. The engineer will stay up to date with Kaseware product updates and industry trends.
  • Proofs of Concept: Support the development of proof-of-concepts (POCs) and system trials as required for selective opportunities during the sales process. 
  • Documentation: Document technical information and maintain accurate records in relevant systems such as CRM, project management, product management, and software development management solutions.
  • Availability: Accommodate a global customer base with potential early morning or late evening/night meetings.
  • Miscellaneous: Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support the Growth Team and the Kaseware mission.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree. A degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) would be preferred but not required. 
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales engineering role for a large and highly configurable SaaS platform.
  • 3+ in a customer facing role, preferably on a sales, customer success, or support team.
  • Significant experience in the configuration and administration of large SaaS platforms.
  • Working knowledge and Understanding of IT infrastructure, product management, agile methodology, change management, and software development concepts.

Required Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Must have excellent presentation, public speaking, and product demonstration skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various professionals and disciplines such as the sales team, customer operations teams, software development teams, and DevOps teams.
  • Intellectual Traits: Intellectual curiosity, humility, analytical abilities, personal accountability, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Technological Expertise: Mastery of operational technologies used at Kaseware, including Salesforce, Jira, Monday.com, and Office Suite.
  • Technical Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of industry technologies such as operating systems, storage devices, switching methodologies, cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, virtualization, containerization technologies (such as Docker and Kubernetes), and command line shell (Mac terminal, linux, bash, powershell, etc.)
  • Security: Knowledge and curiosity of security, IPsec, InfoSec, hacking, and exploitation tools and methodologies.
  • Independence: Must have the ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action and decision making while maintaining focus on achieving optimal outcomes as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary effort.
  • Certifications: Network and Telecommunication-specific professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ComTIA Network+, WCNA, etc.

Preferred Experience:

  • Post Graduate Degree(s): MBA or equivalent Master's degree.
  • Product Management: Demonstrated experience working directly with, or in, product management teams and roles.
  • Project Management: Two or more years of experience and certifications in IT or Agile Project Management methodologies.
  • Security: Operational experience in an INFOSEC, Cyber Security Operations, or Security Certifications.
  • Military or Intelligence: Background and experience in an operational role within a military, intelligence, or law enforcement agency.
  • Languages: Bilingual in French, German, or Arabic.

Other Requirements:

  • Language: English
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a full CJIS compliant fingerprint-based background check.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply (no sponsorship available).
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50% of the time if required, with a valid U.S. passport.
