The Sales Engineer will be responsible for conducting software demos, software working sessions with customers, building proofs-of-concept, and delivering these proofs-of-concept to key executive decision-makers.

This role will require you to be proactive, adaptable, and have superior communication and presentation skills. You should be comfortable speaking to high-level executives and able to answer in-depth questions when necessary. A sales engineer will be the first person to introduce our platform to a prospective client, so you must be confident and capable in presenting, and maintain extensive knowledge of the software platform.

Key Objectives

Objective #1: Deliver software demonstrations as a Sales Engineer

  • Superior communication skills; ability to act as a business partner to clients with superb presentation skills
  • Able to plan for changes, obstacles, and external forces
  • Capable of generating and sharing breakthrough ideas
  • Complete understanding of the sales process
  • Solution-oriented, consultative sales approach

Objective #2: Engage in requirement-gathering exercises with prospective clients and the ability to translate those discussions into proofs-of-concept that show Decisions’ value proposition

  • Understand business processes so as to properly scope and build a proof-of-concept
  • Prior technical development experience with programming languages, knowledge of SQL database or relational database skills, C#, CSS, SQL Server, Java, Oracle, etc
  • Proactive, forward-looking, and able to maintain a long-term, big-picture view
  • Other duties as assigned

Objective #3: Have the ability to build custom applications to meet client requirements

  • Ability to understand complex software and technical concepts
  • Strong communication skills in making complex solutions consumable by all business personas
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work with a team or as an individual to meet timelines for complex projects

Specialized Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of Information Technology experience
  • Must be a team player
  • Strong leadership capabilities to take on additional leadership roles and activities
  • Solution-oriented, consultative sales approach
