The Sales Engineer will support technical pre-sales engagements, translate customer requirements, assist with hardware integration, and communicate product capabilities to customers. Strong embedded systems knowledge and excellent communication skills are essential.

Why we exist:

Swarmer develops software that makes drones autonomous and allows them to operate together, in large, coordinated teams — no pilots needed. Our technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine— the world’s most intense proving ground for drone warfare.

In March 2026, we became the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a $15M Series A — the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the start of the war.

Working at Swarmer means operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. The problems and environments are complex, and the stakes are very real. We built this software to enable democratic nations to defend themselves.

If you are motivated by building resilient systems that matter and by seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll find purpose here.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a Sales Engineer with a strong embedded systems background who can operate comfortably across customer-facing technical sales, technical communications, and hands-on engineering support.

This role is ideal for someone who can bridge engineering depth with clear customer communication and help articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What you’ll do:
  • Support pre-sales technical engagements with customers and partners

  • Answer technical customer questions during evaluations, procurement, and integration discussions

  • Translate customer requirements into clear technical recommendations and solutions

  • Develop technical materials and written responses for proposals, grant applications, customer documentation, and partner communications

  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to accurately communicate product capabilities and limitations

  • Assist with hardware setup, integration, and field support when needed

  • Represent the company in customer meetings, industry events, and technical discussions

What we need:
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or FAE role

  • Strong embedded systems background, including firmware/hardware integration

  • Comfortable working with PCB hardware, embedded devices, and drone systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly and concisely

  • Confident, extroverted, and comfortable interacting directly with customers and partners

  • Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to contribute to proposals, grant applications, and customer-facing technical documentation

  • Practical, hands-on mindset; effective in both lab and field environments

Would be an advantage:

  • Experience with drones, robotics, RF systems, or edge AI platforms

  • Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems

  • Experience supporting enterprise, defense, or government customers

  • Exposure to wireless communications, telemetry, or autonomous systems

  • Experience contributing to technical proposals, SBIRs, grants, or RFP responses

What you’ll get:
  • Your work ships fast and gets used. Direct operational feedback from frontline users in weeks, not years

  • A fast-paced environment with minimal bureaucracy and no “process for the sake of process”

  • Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package (insurance, paid sick leave, 20 paid days off per year)

  • Flexible remote work options where possible

How’s the hiring process going:

✔️ Recruiter Screen → ✔️ Interview with the Team → ✔️ Technical Interview → ✔️ Final Interview → ✔️ Skip-level Interview (optional) → ✔️ Offer

Please note that, as a leading defense tech company, we take operations security seriously and may need to perform additional background checks as part of our hiring process. We will do so in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and safeguard your data in the process.
