The Sales Operations Analyst will enhance sales operations through data analysis, pricing audits, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to improve performance and accuracy.
Who We Are
At Apartment List, we’re transforming how people rent—making it smarter, easier, and a lot less frustrating. Our platform has already matched over a 1.4 million renters with their next home, while helping properties fill units with the right residents. Backed by strong growth and a big vision, we’re building the future of renting—and inviting bold thinkers to help us shape it!
About the RoleAs the Sales Operations Analyst you will partner with Sales Operations leads and leaders across our Field and Revenue Operations teams to support the strategic programs that accelerate Apartment List's supply market growth. Your analysis and insights will help inform our supply strategy, sales methodologies, goaling, and incentives.
A significant portion of this role is dedicated to pricing and billing operations, specifically the monthly audit cycles that ensure pricing accuracy across tens of thousands of product contracts before billing is approved. You will own and execute these audits, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate cross-functionally to resolve issues on tight monthly timelines. This work is foundational: nothing gets billed until audits are tied out.
This role is right for you if you enjoy exploring the connection between a go-to-market strategy and business impact, and then solving problems through data-based decision making. You need to be curious, technically sharp, comfortable working under time pressure at the start of each month, and ready to make an impact.
You will help the Sales Operations team improve the performance of the sales organization through sales reporting, data modeling and insights, run-the-business execution, and business intelligence. You will also serve as the operational backbone of our monthly billing cycle, owning the pricing audits that protect revenue accuracy and partner trust. This is a hands-on, technically focused role, not a business partner seat. The goal is to build the operational foundation that allows the broader Strategy and Operations team to operate more strategically.
Sales Operations
- Drive analytics for territory planning, segmentation, capacity modeling, and quota setting.
- Partner with Sales Leadership and Sales Operations teams on forecasting, pipeline analysis, and process improvements.
- Own the enrichment of TAM (total addressable market) data from external data sources via automated data connectors to refresh prospecting and existing partners data on a routine basis.
- Assist on monthly pricing audits across thousands of records to ensure accuracy before billing approval.
- Investigate discrepancies, coordinate cross-functional resolutions with SFDC Engineering and Finance, and maintain the pricing issues log.
- Adapt audit templates to reflect new product structures and pricing model changes.
Reporting & Analytics
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Looker dashboards, reports, and KPIs to monitor sales performance.
- Generate weekly regional data insights and reports to identify process gaps and drive resolutions.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to support business initiatives and leadership inquiries.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in Salesforce and other sales tools through ongoing validation and testing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the operational bridge between Sales Ops and technical teams, translating business requirements into system configurations and vice versa.
- Participate in and help drive cross-functional projects with strong accountability and attention to detail.
- Partner with the SFDC Engineering team to flag, ticket, and prioritize root-cause fixes for recurring pricing and data issues surfaced through audits.
Documentation & Process
- Create and maintain Salesforce process documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and workflow guides, to close the institutional knowledge gaps that exist today.
- Document SFDC pricing architecture, rate card operations, and audit methodologies so that audit processes are not dependent on any single individual.
- Build and maintain SOPs for each audit type (rate, platform fee — standard, advance pay, activation) to enable continuity and reduce onboarding time.
- 2–4 years of working experience in a similar role in a fast-moving business environment, tech, consulting, or banking preferred.
- Deep Salesforce knowledge. You understand objects, fields, validation rules, and data flows. Salesforce Admin certification preferred.
- Strong proficiency with data modeling, extraction, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Excel, SQL).
- AI Power User. You have demonstrated capabilities in using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to analyze complex datasets, automate repetitive workflows, and streamline reporting processes.
- Experience with billing operations, revenue assurance, pricing auditing, or similar data validation workflows is a strong plus.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities — especially under beginning-of-month time pressure when audits, commissions, and billing all converge.
This role is designed to grow with you. As you build expertise in our systems and data, the path forward includes Senior Analyst, Lead Analyst, and eventually Sales Ops Manager owning a functional area of the operation end-to-end. You'll gain direct exposure to sales leadership, GTM strategy, and cross-functional decision-making that most analyst roles don't offer this early. We invest in Salesforce certifications, BI tool training, and conference attendance to accelerate your development.
