DESCRIPTION:
As a Sales Support Representative at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to operational excellence and enhance customer experience across our commercial teams. This position connects sales, customers, and internal departments, ensuring smooth coordination of sales processes from quote to delivery. You'll manage product and customer data, optimize processes, and provide essential support to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. Working with Salesforce.com you'll maintain data accuracy and coordinate cross-functional activities to enable seamless order fulfillment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while supporting our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

The selected candidate will be expected to be based remotely from Houston, or hybrid onsite in Pittsburgh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize research and resolve issues that impact the customer and sales productivity including pricing, shipping, billing, invoicing, backorders, returns, transportation, order charge and other defined issues.
  • Increase sales effectiveness by interacting with functional areas in the execution and follow through with sales processes that are administratively burdensome and time-consuming for the sales team including pricing, rebates, standing orders and complex quotes.
  • Increase sales effectiveness by assisting with backorders; research and resolving high-priority issues by contacting warehouses and vendors to ship and bill orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience required; sales operations, customer service, or related business operations experience preferred
• Preferred Fields of Study: Business Administration or related field
• Additional relevant certifications in project management or process improvement beneficial
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
• Demonstrated expertise with CRM systems (especially Salesforce.com)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Project management and process improvement skills
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
• Customer service orientation with focus on quality
• Experience with data management and maintaining system accuracy
• Capability to handle customer inquiries and resolve escalations

• Strong project, time and stakeholder management competency is therefore essential to maintain several priorities and meet established deadlines

• Ability to manage self, including time and surrounding circumstances to deliver both short-term and long-term goals

• Strong work-ethic, the ideal candidate will have a commitment to continuous learn and development, and seek opportunities to stretch capabilities

• Ability to prepare and deliver business reviews and presentations

• Understanding of pricing structures and contract management
