Description

Sales Strategy Specialist — $50,000+ Annually, Top News Organization, Meaningful WorkDescription

Do you get excited by a well-crafted pitch deck and the data behind why it works? Are you the kind of person who can spend the morning digging into campaign performance and the afternoon helping a customer fall in love with their ad?

This role sits at the intersection of creative partnership and analytical thinking — and that's exactly what makes it rare. Based in our Pflugerville office, you'll support an advertising sales team and their customers across three major Texas metros — Austin, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth — sharpening pitches, strengthening customer relationships, and surfacing insights that move real revenue.

Community Impact lands in two million mailboxes and thousands of inboxes every month. It's a publication people actually look forward to — as enjoyable to read as it is informative. Join a team that takes that seriously, and take pride in the work you put into the world. Become an Impacter today.

A Day in the Life

No two days look the same — and that's what makes this role exciting. You might start the morning reviewing campaign data to help a sales rep build a stronger pitch, then spend part of your afternoon working back-and-forth with a customer and designer to get their ad just right. In between, you're responding to incoming tickets, joining a cross-functional problem-solving session, or helping a rep understand a new process. You're equal parts analytical resource, creative sounding board, and reliable hub — the kind of person who shifts gears easily and leaves every interaction a little better than they found it.

Your responsibilities include:

Sales Strategy & Pitch Advisory: Partner with sales reps to create pitch decks and use data to help reps win more business.

Creative Collaboration: Help manage a book of business and build relationships with advertisers and act as their creative partner — guiding the ad development process from concept through approval.

Targeted Mail & Custom Quotes: Partner with Community Impact Printing to scope targeted mail campaigns and develop custom quotes that match customer needs.

Field Support & Issue Resolution: Respond to incoming tickets, troubleshoot issues for the field sales team, and keep work moving without bottlenecks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our development team on new UX/UI improvements, partner with ad designers and programmers, and connect regularly with leadership and customers.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze sales performance, advertiser trends, and campaign data to surface insights that drive smarter decisions and stronger pitches.

Sales Training & Enablement: Train sales reps on processes, tools, and best practices so the field team has what they need to succeed.

Administrative Accuracy: Handle data entry and administrative tasks with precision, ensuring records, systems, and deliverables stay clean and reliable.

AI Tool Adoption: Identify, test, and roll out emerging AI tools for sales, marketing, and strategy — sharing best practices with the team to elevate how we work.

About You

You should apply to our Sales Strategy Specialist role if you are:

Career-Oriented: Looking to start or grow your career at the crossroads of sales, marketing, data, and AI in an operational way.

•  Strong Communicator: Communicate clearly and confidently with teammates, leadership, and customers alike.

Customer-Focused: You find genuine satisfaction in helping customers get what they need — whether that's a better ad, a clearer answer, or a faster turnaround.

Quality-Focused: Take pride in quality control and catching what others miss.

Detail-Oriented: Get genuine satisfaction from detail-oriented work in a crm, pitch deck or within a proposal where balancing timeliness and accuracy matters.

Problem Solver: Enjoy problem-solving and untangling issues for a field team that depends on you.

Adaptable: Adapt easily to change and bring a positive, can-do attitude to whatever the day throws your way.

Knowledge Sharer: Want to share what you know — training sales team members on processes and best practices.

Creatively Intuitive: You don't need to be a designer, but you can look at an ad and know when something's off — and can articulate why.

Data-Driven: Love learning and digging into data to surface insights that drive smarter sales strategy.

Tech-Curious: Are curious about or already skilled in emerging AI, data and UX/UI trends to make work more efficient and surface new opportunities.
