We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Technical Architect to join our athenaIT Operations Technology team.

Position Summary
As the Salesforce Technical Architect for Operations Technology, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, data architectures, web applications, and application features specifically related to Salesforce and its surrounding ecosystem of applications. You will actively engage in development tasks while providing guidance and support to the development team throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires close collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including Customer Success and R&D business stakeholders, to define system requirements, develop architectural designs, and ensure that Salesforce-based solutions are scalable, secure, and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Business acumen - Demonstrate strong business acumen with deep expertise in the Customer Success domain and its supporting technologies.

  • System Designs: Review new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improving or altering the systems

  • Architectural Design: Develop and maintain the architecture of Salesforce and surrounding applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements and ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient solutions.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, business leaders, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into architectural solutions.

  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements, translating them into architectural specifications.

  • Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance system performance and capabilities.

  • Technology Governance: Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.

  • Integration: Design and implement integration strategies for various systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, design decisions, and technical specifications.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of architectural designs.

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Compliance & Security: Define and enforce security policies and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Foster a culture of security awareness, ensuring that systems are designed with best practices in mind while anticipating future threats.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • AI: Foster an AI-first mentality and execution approach across our organization.

People Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Encourage professional growth and development by providing regular feedback, coaching, and opportunities for skill enhancement.

  • Promote a positive team environment that values diversity, inclusion, and open communication, ensuring all team members feel empowered to contribute their ideas and perspectives.

  • Drive team engagement and motivation by recognizing achievements and celebrating successes, while also addressing challenges and areas for improvement.

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in systems architecture, software development SalesforceDX, VS Code, BitBucket, and Git.

  • Proficiency in system design methodologies, architecture frameworks, and various programming languages.

  • Familiarity with architecture modeling tools and cloud platforms such as Salesforce CRM (Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Agentforce)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Salesforce Platform, API integrations and custom workflows

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Knowledge of best practices in software development, data management, or web design.

  • Working AI transformation expertise.


Expected Compensation

$141,000 - $239,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.  Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
