To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an SEC Accounting Manager located in Austin, TX.
Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager the SEC Accounting Manager role will be responsible for establishing operational objectives and managing financial accounting and control.
What a typical day looks like:
- Manage and prepare the quarterly SEC cycle, including drafting the financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, disclosures, and other quarterly reporting and accounting activities. Represent the CAO organization in working with heads of investor relations, FP&A and business unit finance in the preparation of our external filings.
- Operate as global SME for SEC reporting regulations and FASB disclosure rules and brief CAO leadership group on developments and impacts to Flex. Lead response to new rules in conjunction with peers and external auditors.
- Be a partner in maintaining SOX compliance around SEC reporting, working closely with our SOX program and global accounting teams
- Lead auditor interaction as it relates to our annual audit and quarterly reviews
- Develop and manage strong, collaborative relationships with peers in finance and business partners across the organization to understand the business and apply that knowledge to the financial statements and reporting
- Develop and maintain our global accounting policies, including updating existing policies and performing technical accounting research on an as-needed basis
- Manage complex accounting processes including equity, stock-based compensation, EPS and goodwill
- Support the Corporate Accounting team with technical assessments of non-standard transactions and lead or participate in special projects as needed
- Manage and develop direct report, training them in external reporting and providing exposure to wider corporate accounting activities.
- Play leading role in the corporation’s response to developing climate reporting requirements, working with sustainability group, external advisors and internal SMEs to develop reporting, drive system implementation and, together with the finance compliance team, build out SOX-like controls for non-financial reporting.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience and training.
- 6 years of related experience with a Master of Science and Accounting (MSA) degree.
- CPA Certificate
- Ability to manage the SEC annual and quarterly 10-K / 10-Q filings process including the financial statements, footnotes and MD&A, while ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under U.S. GAAP and the SEC (including iXBRL/Workiva).
- Ability to manage complex accounting processes including equity, stock-based compensation, EPS and goodwill.
- Ability to lead in SOX compliance processes, policies and procedures including the policies and the quality execution for SEC reporting.
- Demonstrate the foundational skills in managing teams (internal and external) and processes. This includes the ability to lead teams, coordinate tasks, and ensure that processes are followed efficiently and effectively.
