About the Department
The Security team at Cloudflare is focused and committed to helping secure both Cloudflare and our customers. The Security Technology team works closely with the teams responsible for running and maintaining our global infrastructure and enterprise. Our mission is to secure the foundations of all Cloudflare production and enterprise systems.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced security practitioner to help us in our mission to help build a better internet. As part of our team, you will be expected to:
  • Work with our engineering, IT, and infrastructure teams to secure the entire Cloudflare global network and enterprise
  • Deploy and manage security tools that help address security risk at a global scale
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure adherence to standards
  • Ensure our global infrastructure is secure from all attacks, ranging from "script kiddies" to nation states

This role does currently require 2 days in-office a week.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of previous experience in cyber security
  • Strong relationship building with cross functional teams
  • Experience working with corporate Information Technology platforms and systems
  • Solid understanding of security practices for Linux, MacOS, Windows systems
  • Builds and nurtures robust working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
  • Translates complex, ambiguous security situations into clear, actionable requirements to drive alignment and decision making
  • Experience with risk review and evaluations of configurations
  • Familiarity with programming/scripting languages

Bonus Points
  • Strong Linux system experience from user-space to kernel-space
  • Securing the software supply chain from workstation to deployment
  • Networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, secure design and segmentation
  • Cross-functional governance experience with programs like PCI-DSS, FedRAMP
  • Deep understanding of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) functionalities
  • Experience with public cloud security best practices (GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Terraform, Ansible)
  • Advanced programming experience (Python, Golang, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with securing Google Workspace
