Why Outside Sales at Steno Is Different

  • Develop and execute territory plans for assigned AM Law 100 accounts with focus on revenue growth and client retention
  • Navigate lengthy procurement processes involving multiple decision-makers and influencers across practice groups and administrative functions
  • Build and maintain relationships with staff, partners, practice group leaders, C-suite executives
  • Conduct research to understand firm-specific challenges, practice area needs, and business objectives
  • Uncover, track and land large cases, work cross functionality and with sales peers to bring in all parties involved in the matter
  • Create and close MSA opportunities in your AM Law accounts
  • Increase earnings as your book of business grows


You’ll be in the field at least 3 days per week, building real relationships - not just sending emails. If you love face-to-face selling, networking, attending industry events, and being a visible presence in your market, you’ll thrive here. There is no ceiling on your success. The larger and more engaged your book becomes, the more you earn. You’ll crush this role if you have a deep understanding of AM Law firms and are a consultative seller skilled at navigating 6-12+ month sales cycles. 


Base Salary and Commission 

  • Salary - $110,000+
  • Commission: 5% on Steno Revenue (Net New + Existing)
  • Expected first-year OTE $150k+
  • Potential second-year OTE: $250k+
  • Potential third-year OTE: $300k+
  • Potential for a signing bonus and first-year guarantee for properly qualified candidates
  • Example: a rep with a $2m book of business earns $100,000 in annual commission
