Hall CPA is a 100% virtual, real estate-focused public accounting firm. Our Monthly Accounting team is where client relationships live long-term. We act as the outsourced controller or CFO for clients ranging from individual investors to complex, multi-entity portfolios. Most are in real estate, with a handful in other industries, so you get cross-industry exposure.
You will own a portfolio of ongoing client relationships and lead a team of preparers and reviewers who handle the day-to-day bookkeeping, supported by AI and automation. You will be the accounting partner clients rely on for real business decisions, with variety, ownership, and room to shape how clients run.
Areas of Responsibility

  • Own the accounting relationship for your clients, including weekly check-in calls that cover what is happening in their portfolio, how it affects their financials, and what happens next

  • Provide white-glove service with fast response times, closely managed accounts, and frequent touchpoints

  • Deliver accurate monthly financials prepared by your team or through AI-assisted workflows, reviewed for quality before they reach the client

  • Help clients make business decisions through projections, ROI analysis, and cash flow forecasting, translating the numbers into insight they can act on

  • Proactively bring clients ideas to streamline, grow, and improve their processes and systems before they ask

  • Lead large onboardings, setups, and cleanups for clients moving into our Controller and CFO services, including the transition from a prior accountant or system

  • Take on customized engagements built around a client’s current business need, using research, critical thinking, and planning to chart a path forward

  • Lead and develop preparers and reviewers, including offshore team members, with clear deadlines, direction, and feedback
    Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a client-facing role, with prior controller, CFO, or public accounting experience in a similar role preferred

  • Experience supervising or reviewing the work of other accountants

  • Strong software experience in QuickBooks Online, property management software, and cash flow portals preferred

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including how entity structures (LLCs, partnerships, S corps) affect financial reporting

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and equity structures, including waterfall and distribution calculations.

    Measures for Success

  • Client NPS averaging 9/10 or greater

  • Long-term client retention

  • On-time, accurate monthly financials, with less than 5% unsatisfactory in internal quality reviews

  • Team capacity and deadlines managed without last-minute escalations

  • Improvement or growth opportunities identified and delivered for clients

    Remote Work

  • Video always on and business casual for client calls from a quiet, professional space

  • Laptop provided, plus a $500 annual tech reimbursement
    You’re a Good Fit If

  • You’re friendly, have a sense of humor, and enjoy helping and teaching others

  • You take ownership of your work, clients, and team and solve problems before they escalate
